Data and Analytics Strategy Lead
Skipton Principle Office, The Bailey
Skipton, North Yorkshire, BD23 1AP
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
Salary: Dependent on Experience
Prepare yourself for a data analytics role with a difference. This one’s not just about the data, it’s about strategy and people too, so we’re looking for someone with skills in all those areas. It’s a great opportunity to take ownership of a relatively new role, and find innovative ways of transforming our customer data into practical applications that can be used to support our business strategies.
When we say it’s not just a traditional analytics role, we really mean it. It’s a combination of thinking, doing and influencing. The thinking part will be getting to understand our customer data so we can optimise how we use it. The doing part will be to provide guidance, support and recommendations around how that data’s applied. And the influencing part will be to assure our senior leaders that the approach we’re recommending is based on sound knowledge and expertise.
Ultimately, you’ll become one of the leading voices at Skipton when it comes to data strategy, giving you a real opportunity to influence the future of the business. You’ll also become a champion for the data analytics team and communicate technical solutions to the rest of the business in a language everyone will understand.
We’re looking for someone who’s comfortable taking the lead. That will involve things like challenging stakeholders in the right way when ‘yes’ isn’t necessarily the right answer, actively volunteering yourself as the ‘go to’ person for all things data strategy, and taking a proactive interest in industry trends and how we could apply them here.
It goes without saying you’ll need a background in data - ideally three to five years - but you’ll need plenty of strategic business knowledge too. You’ll need to be a brilliant communicator who can influence at every level, with the ability to analyse and interpret various forms of data and present your findings in a relevant format. If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
