Role Purpose

SAS is looking for a Customer Intelligence Systems Engineer who can provide digital marketing and customer experience expertise to assist our sales teams, customer advisory, and senior management within sales opportunities. This person will have hands-on expertise within the digital marketing landscape through an existing digital analytics or experience optimisation role.

At the heart of the role is the ability to provide storytelling and business experience to all stakeholders with an aptitude to develop and articulate the right solutions to the customers’ requirements. The right candidate must be able to represent digital data as a strategic asset and understand the potential uses within any business. On a client by client basis, they must be able to define business value that digital data can provide and demonstrate its use through predictive analytics and customer targeting. They must understand the relationship between data and technology - which environments are suitable fordifferent types of data and analysis, and which tools are needed to achieve business objectives.

Primary Responsibilities

* Leads and executes technical pre-sales for customer experience opportunities working with the sales teams and client accounts
* Provides expert hands-on domain and technology knowledge across the digital landscape whilst maintaining and up-to-date view on emerging digital experience technologies
* Clearly articulates the breadth and value of the SAS Customer Intelligence solution against customer use cases and being able to explain how SAS differentiate from the competition.
* Assist and manage Proof of Concepts and Proof of Values.
* Support the response of RFI/RFP’s or business case requests
* Works with sales staff to outline available products and leverage sales opportunities.
* Builds a trusted relationship with the Account Executive and account stakeholders to provide practical guidance in the functional and technical aspects of proposed software and set proper expectations to ensure customer satisfaction.
* Delivers standard, customized and/or strategic presentations outlining the proposed software functional capabilities, competitive advantages and business benefits.
* Delivers technical architecture related information, leads technical discovery sessions, responds to architecture and infrastructure questions when necessary.
* Develop required client relationships in order to develop client trust and gain deeper insight to client situation, needs, and internal situations, with the intent of developing mutually beneficial long-term SAS/client relationships.
* Maintains and develops relevant knowledge levels of technical and industry trends in order to identify impacts and opportunities created by these trends.
* Supports partner development & enablement, as well as partnered sales opportunities.
* Conducts discovery meetings to collect, clarify and document technical and business requirements during the sales cycle.
* Plans and implements, in conjunction with Account Executive, customer retention and post-sale strategies to ensure account satisfaction.
* Provides demonstration and business development support at vendor-sponsored events, trade shows, and user group meetings.
* Develops familiarity with company sales initiatives, product positioning, pricing, proposals, and models.
* Strategizes with sales team on objectives of customer meetings, understand how this activity relates to overall sales plan and provides functional leadership for sales opportunities.
* Participates in product, solution and/or technical training to acquire and maintain detailed level of product knowledge of core components of SAS offerings.

Additional Responsibilities

* Assists the sales team with complex technical sales activities
* Directs activities and trains other staff members.
* Communicates with key decision makers to impact revenue generation decisions and/or future company success.
* Looks for opportunities to expand a tactical sale into something strategic for SAS and the client.
* Provides the business unit with thought leadership on emerging technical trends including new product positioning and competitive differentiation.

Knowledge & qualification

* Excellent knowledge of solution selling and product marketing techniques, business partner relationship
* Proven hands-on expertise in Web/Digital Analytics, Experience Optimization, or Search Engine Marketing, retargeting platforms and social media advertising
* Ability to analyse data and deliver insights and recommendations through analytic tools.
* Strong communication skills and business acumen.
* Works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles. Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Creates formal networks involving coordination among groups.
* Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments
* Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Digital Marketing, Computer Science, or quantitative field
* Professional certification related to area of assignment may be required
* Having broad expertise or unique knowledge, uses skills to contribute to development of company objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative and effective ways. Barriers to entry such as technical committee review exist at this level

Location

This role is based from Marlow, United Kingdom. Some travel may be required.
