Following a change of ownership 3 years ago a new more online focused strategy has seen The Wedding Shop growing rapidly. Founded in 1990, it is the UK and Ireland’s leading and longest established independent wedding gift list provider. We are a close-knit, family owned business and despite being around for over 27 years we have grown nearly 10-fold in the past 3 years. Our business is both online and instore and combines retail and list service.

 

We have also experienced growth in our retail business in store in the last couple years and we are now planning to take it to the next level with a retail website. This has led us to search for a high-quality individual with a passion for e-commerce in the field of luxury homeware who can shape and grow this new business. We are looking for a highly self-motivated individual who is a fast learner and can thrive in a culture of evidence based continuous improvement..

 

The successful candidate will be working closely with the Head of Buying and will have ownership of the design and the day-to-day running of the new retail website as well as digital marketing and analytical reporting.  This is a fantastic role for an experienced E-Commerce and Marketing Manager to get stuck-in and take full advantage of the many opportunities for growth on offer.

 

Reporting to the Chief Exec, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

 

Website Management:

    • Lead website design and development
    • Develop a trading plan
    • Grow sales, profile and conversion
    • Manage the content of the website/ online visual merchandising
    • Develop a mode of continuous improvement in all aspects

 

Marketing:

o   Lead the creation of the brand identity, the brand guidelines and the tone of use to be used across the website, emails and the social media channels

o   Develop and execute key digital marketing campaigns

o   Optimise organic and paid search

o   Manage and develop 3rd party SEO agency activity and develop PPC strategy

o   Grow the email database and create appealing email campaigns

o   Create and share engaging content across digital platforms

o   Work on referral marketing plan to increase customer engagement

o   Use social media to increase engagement and conversion

o   Extend the loyalty programme to improve repeat purchase rates

o   Analyse and report each week on the performance of all campaigns and manage a monthly budget

Analytical reporting:

    • Website activity and progress (including improvement recommendations)
    • Customer funnel and product/category analysis – developing insights and making actionable recommendations
    • Leverage results of the analysis to help develop the online content strategy
    • Monitor web analytics and internal data sources to evaluate performance and the success of marketing campaigns
    • Undertake ad-hoc analyses, user testing, A/B testing, quality assurance and market research to help grow sales

 

Skills and experience:

  • Strong commercial acumen and experience within a B2C/e-commerce/luxury homeware goods is highly desirable
  • Ability to have full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the website from strategy and planning to hands-on implementation
  • Experience of driving business growth through digital marketing technologies
  •  A solid understanding of Web Analytics and sales reports and customer buying behaviour
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire & influence
  • Ability to work well with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are essential
  • Hands-on and pro-active approach with a desire and ability to stay abreast of the latest innovation and continuous improvement in the fast-changing e-commerce space.

 

 Hours of operation:             Full-time: Monday – Friday (9am – 5.30pm)

Salary:                                     Competitive (plus annual bonus)

Holiday:                                  23 days per year (excluding Public Holidays)

Location:                                Hammersmith, South-West London
