Senior Digital Product Manager

From £50,000 per annum

Central London

My client are a vibrant, digital first insurtech scale-up, targeting the small business and micro SME segment, and are currently seeking to recruit a talented Digital Product Manager to help the business to rapidly scale in response to market opportunities and demand.

Working within a small, growing team, you'll play an integral role in product and platform development over the long-term, to help them become the digital on demand insurer to small businesses in the UK and beyond. You will help to drive an innovative technology road-map, taking a customer-first approach and translating requirements for external development teams. You will also spear-head the growth of their internal engineering resource, which is in the initial phase of being built.

We are seeking an ambitious Product Manager, highly organised and comfortable with Agile development, with excellent stakeholder management and prioritisation skills and a creative approach to work.

Key responsibilities:

  • Delivering multiple work streams, projects and products using appropriate agile methodology, constantly learning and iterating.
  • Working closely alongside the Product Director and other stakeholders to manage the product road-map for the development portfolio and individual products.
  • Leading the planning process, collaborating with development teams and relevant stakeholders, prioritising workload against capacity, capability and criticality of teams and requirements.
  • Take the lead on scoping requirements and drafting technical specifications for the development teams.
  • Implementing product delivery governance standards, ensuring completion of all controls and documentation.
  • Tracking and managing issue resolution process and development backlog.
  • Managing the internal development resource.
  • Alongside development teams, working to identify resource and asset requirements to achieve sprint delivery.
  • Ensuring all project burn and status reporting is accurate, clear and timely.
  • Demonstrating a detailed understanding of all RAIDs processes, ensuring RAIDs are identified, logged, owned and tracked.
  • Managing any changes in scope, establishing formal change and control process with development teams.
  • Leading acceptance process for UAT.

Essential knowledge and experience:

  • Passionate about innovating customer experience through digital product development.
  • Proven experience in delivering digital products and projects.
  • Proven experience in using a range of agile project management methods.
  • Experience in balancing multiple priorities and dealing with ambiguity.
  • An up to date understanding of the digital landscape.
  • Experience of working with third party suppliers and resources.
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365 (PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook).
  • Proficiency in Jira, Confluence and G-Suite (Drive, Docs and Gmail).
