The University of Hertfordshire is looking for an outstanding strategic leader to take our campus university to the next level through the delivery of the relevant parts of the 2020 Strategic Plan and realise its mission to be “internationally renowned as the UK’s leading business facing University”.
You will be a highly experienced marketing and communications professional and through your innovative, creative and dynamic leadership skills, lead on the University’s UK student recruitment strategy and oversee the development and implementation of plans to ensure targets are met.
This new exciting role will also have responsibility for the regional, national and global development and management of the University’s brand. In addition, maintaining and enhancing the University’s reputation and building a sense of pride in the institution through the delivery of internal communications strategies.
The areas for which you will have responsibility will include external relations, UK undergraduate and postgraduate student recruitment, education liaison and outreach, alumni relations and development, student and staff communications and engagement, digital marketing, social media and the ongoing development of the University’s website.
The role will have responsibility and accountability for the operational management of the Development, Alumni, Communications and Marketing Services teams including appointment, appraisal, development, promotion, review of performance and discipline of all staff of the Department.
You will have at least a substantial proven marketing experience at a senior level in higher education, professional services firm or large business which should include experience across the relevant marketing specialisms of strategy development, online and print promotional material, creative agency supplier selection and management, public relations, internal communications, recruitment operations, market research and the effective use of technology in marketing.
