We’re looking for a commercially minded data scientist to join our rapidly growing, data obsessed eCommerce team. Someone who can move beyond the number into the territory of “so what?” and then beyond that into the world of what we could be doing about it. Someone who can mine nuggets of actionable insight and present them to the team getting engagement and understanding of how this insight can help them to move the dial. This requires a special mindset being simultaneously ferociously driven to get the number they need and still be able to keep it in context of turning that data into actionable insight. This role would suit a commercially minded recent maths or statistics graduate who is looking to use their knowledge and skills to have a high impact in a multi million pound trading environment
Key role responsibilities
Manipulation of very large data sets using advanced statistical techniques
Detailed analysis to the highest standards of accuracy
Harmonising and normalising data sets gathered from various sources
Presenting findings in an easily digestible format
Identifying actionable insight and making proposals about what we could be doing about the insight you find
Ability to “sell” your story to the eCommerce team, getting buy-in for your findings and commitment to make changes to move the number
