Job description

We’re after someone to join our Intermediary Marketing team as an Events and Marketing Executive on a 12 month secondment. You’ll be part of Marketing & Engagement, and you’ll work with other teams too, like those who run our websites, design our products and services, analyse our data, manage our suppliers and look after our mortgage brokers.

· An Events and Marketing Executive based in Bournemouth, (we will also consider applications based in our offices in Swindon and London)
· £25,421 - £36,720 pa based on 35 hours a week
· This is a 12-month secondment, so you will need your Line Manager's permission to apply

The Intermediary Marketing team are central to helping build our thriving membership and delivering legendary service. You’ll make sure that our brands are represented at a range of corporate account and industry events throughout the year, working closely with both our Relationship Management colleagues and third party industry marketing contacts. Along with the Engagement Manager you’ll proactively develop our Intermediary events strategy, testing ways to increase engagement and educate attendees about our brand difference.

Who we're looking for

We deliver over 125 events a year, so we’re looking for a person who has strong time management and organisational skills, working effectively under pressure to make sure deadlines are met. You’ll have a keen attention to detail as you’ll make sure our event collateral is fully accurate and up to date at all times. You’ll need to be comfortable when communicating at all levels and inspire trust in working collaboratively with colleagues from Product and the Relationship Management teams, as well as our third party corporate accounts.

As a minimum requirement you’ll:

· have excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

· have great communication and relationship management skills

· have qualifications and experience that demonstrate the skills we’re looking for

· be capable in using Microsoft Office, in particular using Microsoft PowerPoint to create engaging presentations.

It would be nice if you also had:

· experience working within B2B Marketing

· experience working within events.

What you'll be doing

Your day to day responsibilities will be to arrange our attendance at third party corporate account and industry events, making sure all logistics are accurately fulfilled to set deadlines. You’ll manage the events administration including raising purchase orders and ensuring accurate and timely payment of marketing packages. You’ll also evaluate the effectiveness of the events we attend, providing recommendations for future marketing packages to the Engagement Manager and key internal stakeholders. You’ll excel in building effective relationships with the many internal and external key stakeholders we have.

Alongside the Engagement Manager, you’ll look for ways to develop our Intermediary events strategy and test new ways of engaging our audience, bringing Nationwide’s values to life in a meaningful way.

You’ll have a keen attention to detail, making sure all our event collateral is accurate and supports our Society’s key messages. You’ll also have strong time management and organisational skills as you’ll need to be able to work effectively under pressure, ensuring deadlines are met.
