As Events Portfolio Manager you will be responsible for driving the portfolio of conferences for Centaur Financial. The portfolio consists of around 5 events each year and is a high priority growth area for the business. As an experienced conference producer you will develop strategy for each event working with editorial, sales and marketing teams to ensure effective collaboration to deliver P&L goals. You will work with other freelance and internal Producers as necessary to deliver projects to time.
Portfolio Development – topic generation to deliver a forward schedule of commercially viable topics, competitive event tracking, annual strategy development and budget setting.
Speaker Liaison Management – to advise and manage all internal and external speakers.
Content Creation – ensuring high quality content delivery across all events, as well as engaging with and optimizing editorial input.
Project Meetings – to run regular project meetings around key brands and/or events to create team engagement and manage events to time and budget
Conference Best Practice – to collaborate with sales and marketing teams on best practice around conference process and delivery to meet P&L
Customer Strategy – to input into broader strategies to develop customer loyalty and retention through community building activities and connection to the brand
Onsite Experience – to ensure meticulous on-site execution of conferences to exceptional standards, delivering a memorable experience
Processes – to input into and/or implement processes to ensure seamless and efficient project working across teams
Brand Ambassador – representative for Centaur brands at all times, through telephone and face to face meetings as well as internal meetings
Behaviours and Knowledge:
The ideal candidate will be a proven leader in events development and delivery, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience of conference production. The candidate will have a proven track record to deliver event revenue, content and audience goals.
The candidate will have a high level of commercial awareness and be target and deadline driven. They will have intellectual curiosity and an enormous capacity to learn and absorb information. Understanding of the financial sector would be an advantage, but not a necessity.
As part of a growing division, the candidate will be required to actively seek out opportunities and thrive in an entrepreneurial environment. They will require superb organizational skills to manage a number of projects at one time and be able to take accountability for deliverables on a day to day basis.
They will have excellent influencing skills, the ability to understand brands and their value, and work closely with editorial, exhibition, logistics and sales teams. They will be flexible in their approach to be an awesome team player, equipped to look for solutions which drive optimum performance from their individual events and for the business.
