Why Our Role?

Reporting directly into the Head of Finance – Customer & Overheads, the Finance Analyst will be a close and trusted financial partner, embedded within the Customer vertical providing valuable guidance and challenge on all key decisions. This role will provide detailed relevant insight into marketing performance and its drivers, helping the team to optimise performance and achieve growth targets; as well as helping senior leaders to keep within their cost budgets.

The Customer vertical has an exciting year ahead with a Brand relaunch, plus key initiatives in our CRM and Customer Service teams. There is a real opportunity to make a difference and help drive success.

What will you be doing?

Providing business support, balancing the need for independence as well as being comfortable challenging when needed.
Apply strong commercial business acumen and experience of analysing and understanding performance.
Identifying the key underlying drivers of performance in order to lead the business through the planning process. (Annual budget, quarterly reforecasts, month end close and longer term strategic planning).
Creating financial reporting required to trade the business, constantly reviewing with stakeholders and updating as the business develops.
Involvement in a broad range of project work such as the analysis of and input into business cases, or detailed analysis of costs to identify problem areas or opportunities for maximising profitability.
Developing a detailed understanding of the MSM and MSE business models, and the underlying commercial factors to be able to interpret and interrogate performance.

What do you need to excel in this role?­­


Educated to degree level or equivalent standard
Have achieved or be in the final stage of a Professional accountancy qualification, most likely CIMA or ACCA
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong numeracy and analytical skills
Advanced user of Microsoft Excel
Confident with Business Intelligence tools
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Proven ability to work with and analyse large amounts of numerical data
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work to tight deadlines
Ability to manage multiple projects/ support different areas simultaneously
Ability to manage own workload and conflicting priorities including stakeholder management
Experience of stakeholder management at different levels of the organisation


Experience of working in a retail or other online business
