Global Consumer Insight Manager
c.£45-£50K + bonus + benefits package
North of London/Herts

Brand passionate, business savvy, strategic thinking insight specialist needed NOW for this exceptional role in the global team of this major FMCG company which is on a mission to drive real growth and innovation in its category globally.  Within easy reach of London by car, train or bus, this is a business where you can make a significant contribution - working alongside the brand, innovation and commercial teams to shape brand and category strategy and bringing consumer and shopper opportunities to life in the market.  Using your strong ad-hoc & continuous insight skills gained client-side or in agency/consultancy, you will ensure that consumer and shopper is at the centre of strategic decision making, bringing strong analytical thinking, creativity and robust insight findings to the debate.  [NB: There may an option for some flexible working from home/London.]

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acting as a strategic thought-partner to marketing and the wider business to ensure that the objective voice of the consumer is considered in key business discussions and decisions across multiple markets.
  • Working with the insight & brand team to shape strategic and tactical plans based on genuine consumer and shopper insight.
  • Defining insight gaps and research needs to deliver against strategic priorities and drive brand growth, ensuring research learnings and insights are translated into clear recommendations for communications, packaging, innovation, category strategy.
  • Supporting the marketing and innovation teams in developing initiatives from ideation through concept development to post-launch evaluation and refinement.
  • Lead key strategic insight work streams to develop best in class research protocols for packaging, comms, product development and other areas.

Skills & Experience Checklist

  • Commercial experience working in a Consumer Insight/Research environment, preferably with client side FMCG experience.
  • Hands-on experience in a wide variety of qual & quant methodologies, and the ability to extract key learnings and insights and translate them into concrete recommendations.
  • Strong analytical reasoning and numerical skills, analysis – able to synthesize and communicate clear findings from multiple data sources.
  • Proven track record of autonomously managing a variety of ad-hoc research and landing key messages with key stakeholders to drive action.
  • Familiarity with of continuous market and consumer panel data. (e.g. Nielsen/Kantar).
  • Strong communication skills (written & oral) with an ability to inspire action in others.
  • A real drive for results and the energy and commitment to consistently making things happen!
