Commercial Sales

Overall Job Purpose

This is a key sales role within the Immediate Cycling’s portfolio. You will be asked to sell digital campaigns into core trading areas to core cycling brands and their agencies (where necessary). This role will require selling a mix of display, native, social and video, so will require a creative and agile approach. This role will require some international travel.


Revenue and New Business

* Develop a good knowledge of the Cycling market and client universe
* Develop and maintain a database of existing and new clients
* Understand how your patch of clients is performing year on year
* Take a proactive approach to developing new leads
* Source, open and close sales prospects
* Accurately manage a weekly pipeline and report to Global Business Development Manager
* Achieve sales targets and quota monthly / quarterly / annually as directed
* Attend relevant trade and consumer shows and feedback intelligence to wider team

Administration to include:

* Liaising with production, editorial, design, Ad Ops, accounts
* Ensuring CRM is 100% accurate and up to date at all times
* Ensuring all confirmations are correct and filed centrally and accessibly

Knowledge, Experience & Competencies

Core competencies

* You will be a confident and articulate sales person with an interest in the cycling market. You will be equally comfortable with phone sales and face to face meetings, driving for results and being counted on to exceed goals and targets successfully; consistently pushing yourself to deliver year on year growth from your patch of clients.
* Highly consultative approach, confident in communication with both internal and external clients
* Self-motivated and driven to work within a varied and autonomous role
* Able to identify, target and develop prospects
* Keen appetite to pro-actively chase and generate new business
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Customer focused – dedicated to meeting expectation; acting with the client in mind
* Action orientated – Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Technical Competencies

* Digital ad sales experience is desired but not essential – we are looking for high quality sales skills delivered in a complex and stakeholder driven environment
* Excellent sales, negotiation and presentation skills as well as keen attention to detail; Strong new business skills and tenacious approach to business growth
* A strong team player with a proven track record in achieving and exceeding sales revenues in conjunction with others
* Ability to apply all the latest applicable research and data within the sales process
* Good communication, written and oral, high quality administration and business skills
* A proven creative approach to the meeting of client needs in a variety of settings
* An ability to close business in a constructive and professional manner
