Are you an Experienced IT Professional looking for a new adventure within a global organisation?

Do you have an analytical approach to problem solving? A thirst for data manipulation?

Perhaps you would like more work days where no two days are the same, and you don't want to "just feel like a number?".

AXA have a fantastic opportunity within one of it's many wonderful entities and is looking for a Report Writer/DBA to join it's already flourished team of experts. You will be reporting to the Database Manager and ultimately, responsible for providing data analysis and reporting of the underlying data held within our Global Dealer Networking software. This role includes occasional travel to Droitwich.

What will I be doing day to day in this role?

Extracting manipulating and analysing data in a timely manner and developing the reports and solutions that keep our departments running efficiently.

*

Confidently write SQL statements from multiple tables, views and functions; including the use of correlated sub queries where appropriate.

*

Have full understanding of a reporting system’s development lifecycle and processes and the standards that support them will enable you to work proactively.

*

To be able to expertly use Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, Microsoft Visual Studio (utilising SSRS) and Microsoft Excel (using Pivot Tables) to create reports and analysis. Confidently extract informational data for ad-hoc reporting using SQL queries and be confident in writing and working with stored procedures.

*
Accurately contribute in the maintaining the of the structural integrity of the databases, along with their tables, views, stored procedures and indexes.

What else should I know about this fantastic opportunity?

You will predominantly be based in our office in Droitwich with regular travel to our Coventry base.

Usually working proactively to meet ambitious deadlines, you will use your technical skill to liaise with colleagues and turn company and client requests into comprehensive reporting and analysis. You will be expected to be able to work confidently alone or as a part of the team on larger developments.

Your understanding of data analysis technologies including SQL Server Management Studio, Visual Studio and Excel will be paramount; enabling you to work effectively analysing and developing reporting, solve issues before and as they arise and provide key insight into the business using the data available to you.

Reporting is provided to all aspects of the business; from internal departmental reports, to client-facing reports showing analysis of a specific insurance scheme. You will be responsible for ensuring that your work meets both industry standards and internal guidelines and that your work is documented to a high standard where appropriate.

Qualifications

Educated to degree level in IT/equivalent experience.

Possess the ability to write in SQL to a high standard; to create and alter stored procedures, views, cursors & functions.

Effectively develop with in a Microsoft Visual Studio environment.

*

Effectively use office systems inc. MS Office.
