We are a group of independent marketing agencies based in Southampton. We are currently looking for someone to head up our finance team, this is a 9-12 months fixed term contract.
We’re not your usual office environment and we don’t really do corporate. We’re relaxed about things like dress code and sometimes we laugh at slightly rude financial terms. But we work hard and finance is at the centre of this.
You’ll be managing the core functions of the finance department providing support and advice to the business to help aid decision making whilst overseeing and leading the finance team. As part of the management team you will be responsible for the efforts, results and success of the finance department in regards to financial and accounting activities. You will be the person who ensures everything is running smoothly and that we have robust controls in place to comply with regulations and legislation, suggesting process and system improvements to minimise financial risk.
Alongside this you will also manage the group accounting function, overseeing reporting, management accounts and statutory accounting, as well as supporting month end and year end processes, including year end audit liaison and delivery.
So now we get to the important bit, you!
You’ll be qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA - we’re not that fussy) with experience of motivating and leading a team.
You will be proactive and analytical with a thorough understanding of business principles and practices, ideally from a SME background and are not afraid of getting stuck in. You will be systems savvy and ideally be familiar with using Paprika.
You will also have excellent organisation, communication and problem solving skills, with experience of executive level stakeholder management.
Working in our group services function means you have to be flexible, you’ve got four separate agencies and three locations to deal with. They don’t all do things the same way and they don’t always want the same things so you’ll need to make sure you establish credibility and be there to support them. You’ll take a business partnering approach, using your excellent communications skills to relay information to a variety of people across the business.
