Description

Join the number 1 global insurance brand as Head of Compliance Monitoring in our UK Compliance Team and develop your career with a world leader.

As a member of the AXA UK Group Compliance Senior Management Team, you will contribute to the strategy and direction of the AXA UK Compliance function and develop and embed an effective compliance monitoring team for the AXA UK Group; with clear operating model and clarity of activities in relation to the Risk function.

Your other key accountabilities will be:

To lead the development and implementation of the risk-based compliance and conduct risk monitoring strategy across AXA UK to ensure that Regulatory Monitoring is fit for purpose, reflects the regulator expectations and provide appropriate visibility and assurance in relation to customer outcome based conduct risk issues.

To deliver the development, prioritisation and delivery of an effective risk-based compliance monitoring programme that provides the Regulatory and Compliance Director, Executives and the governing bodies with an objective view of the effectiveness of the compliance and conduct control environment and recommend actions as appropriate. This programme should assess regulatory processes and controls aligned to the AXA UK Conduct Risk framework and inform meaningful input to the ongoing design of the AXA UK Conduct Risk appetite and policy framework.

To provide commercially aware technical guidance to challenge, support and provide information to the senior management teams and practical, proportionate and sustainable remediation to regulatory risk and conduct issues identified in the course of monitoring;

You will use your relationship building and influencing skills to effectively carry out the monitoring and assurance activities; assessing the level of compliance with regulatory requirements in the business area, contributing to the development of a strong compliance and customer focussed culture.

Leading and planning compliance monitoring activity (e.g. assurance review, audits etc) and to ensure any non-compliance is remediated in a timely and appropriate manner, in line with the defined requirements and to monitor progress of actions.

Reviewing the processes and controls on how new and existing regulatory, conduct and AXA UK Group policy requirements are being communicated and embedded in the UK business;

*

Working within the transversal Compliance function and with Risk colleagues to continually develop and deliver high quality technical knowledge, standards and understanding to ensure business compliance with regulatory and conduct requirements with appropriate customer outcomes.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Degree or equivalent professional qualification.

Skills, Knowledge and experience:

*
Excellent knowledge of the regulatory landscape and prior experience of compliance monitoring. Compliance professional in the financial services industry with excellent understanding of current & emerging regulatory issues in the insurance industry.

Proven track record in:

*
Assessing and advising on the impact of regulatory change, regulatory challenges and expectations & the actions required to address; and

*
Developing practical compliance solutions through working with the business and solves problems through the ability to understand the issues, develop ideas and take accountability to act on them..

*
Minimum 5 years’ senior management experience.

*
Excellent people management skills and experience of developing and managing a multi-disciplinary team of professional staff.

In-depth knowledge of:
*
AXA UK business processes and control environment

*
Regulatory requirements (incl. FCA Handbook) and their key drivers / practical implications

*
Risk-based outlook and sound planning / process orientations

*
Excellent communication and relationship management skills with project management experience and proven track record including the ability to change culture and drive strategic change - through persuasive communications, stimulating growth and leadership. This needs to be demonstrated at all levels of management including Executive Directors.

*
Very strong impact and influencing/negotiation skills with advanced report writing skills and attention to detail

*
Builds credibility – through commercial and technical knowledge. Uses this knowledge to challenge the business with regard areas of non-compliance.

*
Good understanding of Insurance business (GI and Healthcare).
