About the Role:

The Digital Marketing Controller is a key role within the newly formed Digital Marketing & PR Centre of Expertise. The team has been formed to accelerate Digital working in our core marketing teams alongside a PR role. This role works across both GB and International, with the teams focus:

-Best practice strategy and execution to Digital and PR,

-Build capability of digital within brand teams,

-Establish and manage a roster of key suppliers,

-Ensure that we are continually testing and learning to drive the efficiency and effectiveness across our Digital and PR activity.

As Digital Marketing Controller supporting the Global and Local (GB) Marketing teams, you will provide thought leadership and expert guidance on the role of Digital for the brands in the Britvic portfolio. Leading a small team you will be responsible for the business and brand digital strategy, establish, lead and manage a digital agency roster, build an International capability programme, set the standards for Digital ‘Metrics that Matter’ and continually test and learn, setting the standard for great work within this discipline.

Whilst the brand teams own and execute the Digital plans, you will have a vital consulting role to play in raising the quality of these plans. You will however be responsible for the Social Community Management team that support and execute five of our brand teams social channels.

Key Accountabilities:

Business Leadership

-Leading the Digital business agenda to ensure it’s an integral part of the marketing plans.

-Continually improving the quality and ROI of our Digital spend.

Marketing and Brand Leadership

-Define digital best practice across all our brands.

-Drive efficiency and effectiveness across brands and markets.

-Continually innovate and encourage adoption of latest trends and industry thinking.

-Champion integration of brand marketing plans - digital/social marketing.

-Identify cross portfolio opportunities for test and learn.

-Lead and embed an ‘enabler’ programme covering – capability (internal and through our agencies), insight, measurement and best in class creative execution.

Excellence in Execution

-Ensure the delivery of portfolio initiatives for example: media partnership opportunities.

-Provide on-going input in to strategy and execution.

-Be creative in finding efficiencies, both regards to costs and resource.

-Understand and establish clear procedures to set up for success and monitor the results of brand Digital campaigns

-Support and invest in relationships with your peers in PR, Procurement, Insight and the Engagement team.

Leadership and People Development

-Be a key driver behind the establishment of the new CofE team, building great working relationships across the team.

-Support direct reports in setting clear objectives and strong personal development plans.

-Build a strong working relationship and integrated plan with the Customer Engagement team, ensuring best practice is shared, joint capability agenda is delivered and clear ways of working are established.

-Build Digital capability through the development and delivery of the right training interventions (Britvic Way of Marketing, coaching).

-Build Digital understanding within key stakeholder groups (PLC Exec, Business Unit Execs where applicable).

-Use appropriate interpersonal skills and communication styles to motivate, inspire and guide the Brand team members towards goal achievement.

Winning Relationships

-Developing powerful relationship within the CofE team and the broader marketing function across GB, our central M&I function and International markets.

-Manage and successfully develop relationships with agency partners to deliver ideas that build brand equity and drive performance.

Experience Required:

-Proven track record in developing and embedding a Digital strategy across an International business.

-Extensive senior level experience in planning and executing world class Digital campaigns.

-Experienced in developing powerful relationships at multiple levels of an organisation and across partner agencies/suppliers.

-Strong coaching skills with experience in managing teams.

-Proven ability to manage tension points internally and between agency partners in service of a better outcome for brands.

-FMCG or CPG experience preferable.


-Degree level qualification.
