A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Head of Marketing & BD to join the dynamic and talented global Marketing & BD team of a major international law firm. You will be based at the heart of the firm's global network in their London office, working as part of a team whose reputation is second to none and will have the opportunity to work on challenging, engaging work that will give you the opportunity to make your mark and progress your career.
Reporting to the BD Director, the Head of Marketing & BD, is a global role within the firm and sits on the Marketing and Business Development leadership team. The successful candidate will need to be a proven deliverer who is able to influence effectively in complex environments. The BD team is a year into its development and this is an exciting opportunity to lead, develop and shape the team as it evolves within the firm. Currently, there is team of six in London, three of which are direct reports, while teams in Europe, the US and Asia are still in formation. The purpose of the role is to have overall responsibility for the firm's marketing of its client solutions in the areas of Transactional, Regulatory and Risk services. You will need a good knowledge of law firm client solutions on a global basis, an understanding of how professional services firms create value for their clients and an ability to translate this into meaningful activity across a range of different client groups, for example corporates, banks and global financial investors. The Head of Marketing & BD will be expected to use this knowledge to develop an overarching approach to marketing the firm's transaction, risk and regulatory capabilities, working closely with key partners and the global client solutions team to generate profitable revenue from target clients. The role holder will drive the creation of marketing messages and materials that articulate why the firm's client solutions are competitively superior, taking an integrated approach across the business, and will be expected to define and implement a multi-channel marketing programme to ensure client awareness of these solutions.
The ideal candidate will be degree educated or equivalent, preferably with a relevant post-graduate qualification, and will possess a deep understanding of the products and practices of an international professional services firm, particularly Global Transactions, Risk and Regulations. A strategic thinker who is highly commercially aware, you should have a product marketing background, be aware of what's going on in the market and resulting client issues and have a strong understanding of how the firm can best help solve these issues to allow clients to take advantage of the changing environment. The Head of Marketing & BD will be a senior applicant who is hungry for a big opportunity, an articulate extravert, who can challenge the firm with strong ideas. In addition, you will possess an understanding of media and social channels and what best routes to use to market, outstanding leadership attributes, excellent writing skills and be able to develop strong working relationships while dealing with people at all levels of the firm.
