The Head of Media Planning Role:
The Head of Planning is responsible for the media planning function within our advertising division.
This includes management of the account planning staff and development of the planning function. The Head of Planning works closely with the Head of Global Advertising to keep planners abreast of developments in the advertising ecosystem and ensures the planning team fully understands the student audience using the latest in consumer psychology to create effective plans. The Head of planning is also responsible for ensuring media plans are increasing return on investment for clients by including the correct mix of Group services.
What does Good look like?
+ Ensuring team’s plans deliver 20% increase on initial client proposed budgets across plans
+ Ensuring plans meet agreed diversification targets for media mix and agency services sold
+ Ensuring we meet an agreed NPS score across our advertising clients
+ Developing an agreed list of resources/ templates that can be used to inform planning and campaign analysis
+ Designing and running a training scheme for all planners to improve their knowledge to run over the next 12 months working in conjunction with senior management team
+ Management Experience
+ In-depth knowledge of student audience
+ In-depth knowledge of planning process
+ In-depth knowledge of the advertising ecosystem
+ Experience delivering plans to scope and time
+ Experience presenting at a high level
+ Degree educated
+ In-depth knowledge of the modern media landscape
+ In-depth knowledge campaign related services e.g. creative, advertising, tracking, reporting etc.
+ Excellent Excel Skills
+ Excellent communicator & people manager
+ Good Mathematical skills
+ Creative thinker
+ Commercially minded
You may have worked in the following capacities:
Senior Media Planner, Head Media Planner, Lead Media Planner, Digital Advertising Planner, Advertising Strategy Planner.
