About the team

Through its strong brand, award winning customer service and unique product offering, O2 has the opportunity to provide SMB customers with a truly unique offering in the market. Working within the wider O2 Consumer & SMB business division, the SMB Marketing team has the remit to define & grow O2’s SMB business with a compelling marketing and customer experience strategy, the second largest P&L. By utilisation of the full marketing mix, the team will drive sales revenue and leads through a combination of brand, sales enablement and product marketing.

Your role

This role has overall accountability for SMB Brand & Marcoms in O2 UK. With a reporting line into the Director of Brand and Marcomms & partnership with the O2 Customer Experience Team, the successful candidate will need to work cross functionally to create and deliver a world class SMB brand & marketing communications plan.

A vital aspect of the role is leading a team of leading a team of SMB experts in marketing communications. Key components to the success of this role are being able to work closely with the sales and customer marketing leadership. The role provides a fantastic opportunity to lead the development of a compelling marketing communications plan to drive revenue and grow SMB customers to O2, second largest P&L and be a leader in the development of a newly focussed plan.

Responsibilities

* Overall: Manage and execute the annual SMB marketing communications plan delivering game changing campaigns ensuring ROI is used to optimise ongoing efficiency of spend.

* Working closely with the Sales team to support them with executing in retail, lead generation, leveraging partners and sales enablement channels.

* Accountable for understanding and analysing the O2 SMB NPS score and driving cross-functional programmes to improve it

* Ensuring all marketing communication plans support a clear commercial opportunity, and that resources are optimised to maximise the commercial return.

* Brand activation: responsible for activating O2 Business brand across SMB, delivering brand plans and achievement of brand targets for SMB and activating partnerships to drive engagement with the O2 Business brand

* Medium business and partner: responsible for positioning within segments, engagement with medium business channel to ensure they are fully equipped with compelling messaging and delivering 30% pipeline demand for acquisition, NPS comms & upsell cross sell across medium business customers. Develop strong and clear engagement with our partner channel and driving demand through the partner channel

* Small Business: responsible for setting the overall comms strategy and messaging, engagement and equipping channels including Retail, Franchise, online & voice and ensuring sales teams have the messages and information on promotions, offers a swell as the right tools to support their conversations

* Ensuring all marketing plans support a clear commercial opportunity, and that resources are optimised to maximise the commercial return.

Working with the central Marketing functions:

*

* Brand Strategy and Guardianship: ensuring brand compliance, and working with the central brand team to align on business audience (includes the use of social media management).

* Performance Marketing: submitting briefs into performance marketing (data briefs, campaign execution etc) ensuring regular performance reviews – accountable to performance

* Events: ensuring the events team are clearly briefed to deliver stand out events throughout the year to support SMB customer programs

* Agencies: ensuring alignment and efficiencies in the use of B2B marketing agencies.

* Work closely with the Corp comms, PR lead to develop and execute external/earned media programmes.

* Building the necessary SMB capabilities across the team.

Key Skills & Experience

* Experience of SMB marketing leadership in the technology industry.

* Proven ability to build and inspire teams to achieve exceptional results.

* An understanding of NPS and how to drive customer experience through comms, campaigns and process improvements.

* A marketing expert experienced in a combination of content marketing, brand marketing, digital marketing, events, customer communications, sponsorship, thought leadership and sales support.

* Has worked with a range of marketing agencies.

* Has exceptional communication skills with the ability to communicate marketing communications plans and concepts clearly

* Ability to build cross-functional relationships to deliver the required business outcomes

* Dynamic and customer-centric with the ability to flourish in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
