The leading consumer travel company is looking for an Innovation Manager - Propositions Manager to join their Marketing team to develop a comprehensive future propositional roadmap to optimise share of rail with key target segments, and one that drives commercial gain, and agenda for innovation. This is a forward-thinking position that needs a proposition manager with an eye on consumer trends and technology and can drive the development of innovate and groundbreaking propositions for the company.

This role's mission is to develop a comprehensive propositional roadmap to optimise share of the market with key target segments. Analyse and create segmentation roadmap that is data-driven, to drive demand and improve loyalty that will increase acquisitions of products across the board.

As an Innovation Manager - Propositions Manager you will join the wider Marketing team reporting directly into the Marketing and invocation Director and be responsible for:

Make Innovation a reality within the organisation: design and deliver innovative propositions

  • Role at operational level: delivery
  • A strong understanding of customers and their needs and apply this to innovation. Working closely with the Head of Customer Propositions, the successful candidate will design, manage and deliver customer centred innovation activities across key markets. They will also work closely with the Head of Customer Propositions to design and deliver training in customer centred innovation methods.

Champion organisational innovation and improve the organisations' innovation abilities: influence the organisation to adopt practices and attitude to encourage innovation

  • Role at Executive level: influence
  • Work with various stakeholders within the industry to develop a unified approach to innovation

Representing innovation: set up a forum to drive innovation. Working with TOCs to have a single voice of innovation. Workshop with CPC to set up this agenda for innovation.

  1. Representation the business at various Innovation forums held by Train operators/ other industry stakeholders.
  2. Defining and delivery of innovative propositions:
    • Aligned to the Customer Heartbeat and industry 'plug holes' where innovation can help improve industry reputation, customer experience or revenue.
    • Work with Customer and Project teams to understand requirements and agree on development of innovative and unique solutions to ensure service differentiation from competitors. Convert those solutions into propositions
    • Work through TOC innovation forum to define a list of innovation projects
  3. Influence culture, people, structure and systems adoption with an innovative approach: e.g. set up training for employees on being more innovative; help teams develop a more strategic approach; support key projects with innovation thinking; innovation supplier forums for; work with HR to embed innovation at grass root levels; etc.

The ideal candidate will have a hands-on experience in Propositions and worked on a suite of products in a subscription-based environment such as telecoms or financial services.

The Innovation Manager - Propositions Manager role requires the following experience:

  • Must have propositions design experience
  • Extensive experience within proposition design and development
  • Experience in working within a commercially oriented environment. Preferably banking or telecoms.
  • Extremely analytical and commercially minded.
  • Commercially minded. Customer-centric. Think out of the box. Challenge status quo.
