An exciting opportunity has arisen for a business development specialist to join a fast growing international law firm on a 3 to 4 month fixed term contract basis to support the delivery of BD and marketing activities.
The role is very much an account management one and will require a self-motivated person who is capable of supporting, enthusing and coordinating the Partners in the management of existing client relationships and the development of new business opportunities. The Interim BD Manager will provide BD advice to partners and senior associates within the maritime group in London, identifying campaigns to grow new and existing business, and work with the firm's Global Maritime Sector Head to coordinate and drive forward specific, targeted, cross-jurisdiction sub-sector initiatives. Main responsibilities will include creating and managing pitches and credentials statements and project managing and drafting global panel pitches.; preparing partners ahead of client and prospect meetings; championing the use of all BD systems, including the firm's CRM system, including ensuring all relevant information is in the system; devising and coordinating events and conference attendance; managing Partners' elements of the firm's marketing information requirements ensuring credentials and other relevant information are up to date and readily accessible; raising the profile of the partners and practice via social media and the website; drafting and updating marketing materials; and evaluating business development events, conferences, activities and initiatives to demonstrate return on investment. The successful applicant will also manage and provide guidance to a Senior BD Executive and a BD Executive.

The ideal candidate will be a bright graduate or equivalent with previous experience advising on business development and marketing in a professional services environment, ideally legal. The BD Advisor must have the ability to work effectively with and influence partners and others and possess both a strong attention to detail and the tenacity to see projects and tasks through to successful completion.
