Reporting to the Senior Global External Communications Manager, this large law firm requires a Junior Global Communications Manager to join its London Global Communications Department.
The role holder will provide support to the Senior Global External Communications Manager on the implementation of a global external communications strategy, incorporating media relations, corporate communications and social media, and the metrics to evidence it. You will work closely with other members of the communications team worldwide to ensure a joined up approach to external and internal communications, providing support on internal communications when needed. The Junior Global Communications Manager will provide support in corporate communications activity which enhances and protects the firm's reputation, including legal media liaison and award entries. You will lead on developing and delivering PR plans for business lines to support the global communications strategy and deliver quality media coverage and project manage end to end communications strategies, including developing thought leadership, galvanising each project group into action, from concept through deployment to post campaign evaluation. The successful candidate will need to maintain good media relationships across the legal, trade, business, national and international media and contribute to the management of agency relationships as and when required ensuring a productive, value for money relationship is established. Overseeing elements of the workload of the Global Communications Executive and work to develop their expertise and skills in social media and media relations will represent an important element of the role. You will also be expected to volunteer for leadership roles within the wider global communications team, such as managing training needs or developing new areas of competency.
Enterprising and inventive with the ability to generate ideas based on partner, client insight, market and media information, research and available data, the ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or possesses equivalent experience gained in a similar role in a professional services or partnership environment, and will possess a strong interest in and understanding of the various internal and external communications channels available to execute plans on a multi-platform basis. A clear, persuasive writer and outstanding communicator with high attention to detail and level of accuracy, the Junior Global Communications Manager will be positive, energetic and robust and will thrive working under pressure to very tight deadlines. Strong media contacts and an understanding of how to market B2B organisations through media and social media will both be essential to success in this challenging role.
