The Role:
This organisation is looking for a Marketing & Communications Executive to play a pivotal role in helping to implement the East & West Midlands business plan by communicating efficiently & effectively with members & external audiences across the region.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop & implement effective communications plans to support the Regional Director to implement the East & West Midland's Business Plans;
- Produce timely & quality marketing & communications content to support their lifelong learning, membership growth, thought leadership & education & inspiration activity;
- Act as Brand champion, providing branding & design advice to East and West Midlands' members & staff;
- Build effective relationships with media & other relevant external organisations using contacts & judgement to raise the profile of infrastructure issues, civil engineering, civil engineers, the organisation & its activities in the East & West Midlands;
- Support volunteer committees in the development & co-ordination of high-quality lifelong learning programmes & social events valued by members. Drive attendance at these events through effective marketing & communication activity and outputs, capitalizing on them to promote membership;
- Edit, produce & distribute a wide-range of marketing & communications collateral, including newsletters, news releases, leaflets, brochures, direct mail, presentations, webpages including event listings, at all times adjusting to appropriate target audiences;
- Manage, maintain & develop relationships with designers and printers, externally & internally;
- Help manage industry awards including event programme, sponsorship, film production & media coverage to ensure that civil engineering achievement is recognised & rewarded;
- Build relationships with communications, business development contacts in client, consultant & contractor organisations & enlist their support in raising awareness of civil engineering achievement;
- Provide professional communication project management & sourcing, including negotiations with external agencies (printers, video production and other suppliers) to maximise efficient operations & use of limited budget.

- Significant experience of media relations & experience in building relationships with local & regional media
- Significant experience of marketing communications
- Project management experience
- Strong experience in production of digital media content & firm grasp of effective deployment
- Strong oral & written communications skills, & the ability to assimilate & distil technical information to produce copy & messages appropriate to the audience
- Strong reporting skills, the ability to provide regular, timely & concise reports, both verbal & written is essential
- Good attention to detail, with excellent writing, proof reading & editing skills to ensure high quality outputs
