IGEM, based in Kegworth, is a professional engineering institution supporting gas professionals in the UK and overseas. Currently, we’re looking for an ambitious Marketing Assistant with a passion for producing stellar content, excellent organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects at once.
About the role:
Key areas of responsibility will include:
Supporting the marketing and communications team in the planning, preparation and delivery of our marketing activities
Writing copy and managing the production of marketing communications materials including e-newsletters, e-shots, brochures, leaflets, social posts, presentations, etc.
Ensuring the website is up-to-date and uploading new content
Writing articles and reviewing IGEM publications with the guidance of the Marketing Manager
Preparing and distributing regular press releases for trade press
Identifying and placing advertising via external channels
Coordinating IGEM’s attendance at gas/energy sector events
Administrative duties such as competitor monitoring, data gathering and insight analysis
This is an all-round marketing position that will allow the successful candidate to gain experience in digital, traditional and social media marketing.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone to take a step up from an internship, graduation or someone with experience in a similar role with transferable skills.
You’ll be a team player with bags of creativity and, most importantly, a natural flair for writing.
Marketing, English or Journalism degree (or similar) would be advantageous
Excellent command of written English with high attention to detail and accuracy
The ability to turn complex technical material into engaging content
Strong understanding of online marketing and its role within the marketing mix
The ability to work under your own initiative and as part of a team
PC literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Hootsuite (or similar).
Strong project management skills
The ability to work to tight deadlines and within tight budgets
Knowledge of Mailchimp, Meltwater and CRM/CMS systems desirable.
