Arctic Holiday Ltd seeks E-commerce coordinator and marketing assistant for Travel company specialising in the Arctics

Salary: £18,000- £23,000 depending on job fit and skill level. Bonus arrangement in place.

Ever dreamed of a job that combines exploring the Arctic with your tech-savvy and pro-active skill set? Arctic Holiday Ltd is a small but exciting travel company based in North London focusing on spectacular experiences for lucky clients in Arctic Norway and the rest of the Arctic.

We are growing and need an enthusiastic IT literate e-commerce coordinator who will relish being part of growing this new company.

Your role would include uploading new trips and products into our online booking system and to our WordPress website, linking it to our suppliers of experiences, transport and accommodation. Training in the use of Citybreak Professional booking system will be given, but experience or education within travel and tour production, as well as e-commerce is  bonus. Additionally, you will be a creative, organized and proactive individual used to thinking outside the box and working both in a team and at your own steam. You must feel confident managing online content and relish finding new strategies for promoting the brand online. You enjoy travelling to our destinations and in creating new opportunities for yourself and the company. This is a unique opportunity to work and prosper within a new on-trend new brand in buzzy Camden, London.

Key responsibilities:

  • Learning to use, updating and using our booking system Citybreak professional.
  • Selling experiences and trips via the system, on the phone, via marketing campaigns and on the website.
  • Destination knowledge, may involve some travel.
  • Follow up back-office calls and enquiries.
  • Answer calls and online enquiries to sell trips within system, excellent client communication skills required.
  • Link with old and new suppliers in the Arctics to enter into new fruitful collaborations and integrating these into the system.
  • Data collection and subsequent management of newsletter send-out.
  • Using Google analytics and suggesting measures to improve online performance.
  • Online WordPress content management.
  • Following up enquiries from online and back office bookings.
  • Making sure blogs, social media and newsletter feeds are updated regularly.
  • Helping with anything else at busy times.

Key skills, knowledge and experience

  • Degree or significant experience within tourism and tour production a bonus.
  • Degree or significant experience and understanding of booking systems and e-commerce a bonus.
  • Strong IT skills in general.
  • Strong communicator and excellent English skills, both written and oral.
  • Good phone manner.
  • Initiative taking and pro-active.
  • Excellent organisational and redactive skills.
