Position: Marketing & Content Manager (B2B)

Responsible to: Communications & Marketing Director

Salary: £30,000-33,000 per annum

Physical Location: London

Duration: Permanent Full time (5 days per week)

Common Purpose is a not-for-profit leadership development organization that specializes in cross-boundary leadership. Founded in 1989, we run programmes in over 100 cities worldwide, and have more than 75,000 Alumni.

Communications & Marketing Department

Common Purpose’s Communications & Marketing team supports both the Common Purpose group that includes a UK company and UK-based international entities consisting of Common Purpose Charitable Trust (parent company), Common Purpose International, Common Purpose Global Customised Ltd, Common Purpose Student Experiences and Common Purpose Asia Pacific Ltd.

Main purpose of the role

The main purpose of this role is to communicate our central proposition, and form compelling marketing materials and thought leadership, so that we build our brand with global organizations who are looking for a new type of leadership development.

Scope of the role

You will have a strong ability to work on your own initiative in order to deliver compelling content and materials that engage new B2B audiences and generate new business.

This role entails, but not limited to, the following:

  • Produce sophisticated thought pieces – across multiple media formats (long form, infographics, blogs and videos) – which build our brand with global organizations
  • Develop a multi-faceted communications strategy for this content across email, websites and social media. 
  • Champion the use of LinkedIn with our sales teams so content reaches its audience.
  • Maximise marketing opportunities from our industry events.
  • Create sales materials in collaboration with our in-house design and digital teams, which communicate our central proposition to B2B audiences. 
  • Manage the effectiveness and consistency of all of our sales materials, collaborating with our in-house design team and sales teams all over the world
  • Develop relationships with industry publications and achieve maximum exposure

Qualifications, experience and competences

We will consider candidates from any background provided they can demonstrate the relevance of their skills and experience.

The person appointed will essentially demonstrate:

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Creativity, constantly bringing new ideas to the table
  • An understanding of Leadership Development and Diversity & Inclusion, and the passion and experience to connect to its themes on a personal level
  • Experience creating compelling thought leadership content across different media
  • Experience developing and creating marketing materials that communicate a proposition and a product suite
  • Experience working internationally
  • Experience of establishing strong working relationships with colleagues from different functions, cultures and levels
  • Speed and ingenuity to keeping up with a rapidly growing organization
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and flex in order to deliver competing tasks to deadlines, under pressure 
  • Strong networking skills, being able to work with senior leaders to develop content
  • Meticulous attention to detail, being a stickler for quality and accuracy
  • Experience of proactively identifying and addressing issues, being a self-starter who is driven and motivated 
  • An understanding of and commitment to Common Purpose’s mission, values and behaviours
  • Competent in MS Office suite

  • Experience using video cameras in a professional environment
  • Experience using professional video editing software
