Job Introduction

We’ve got ambitious plans to grow our Financial Advice business and made advice more accessible to more people. We’ve a new proposition to launch and it’s an exciting time to join the team. We’re looking for a Marketing Communications Manager to lead the development and delivery of insight-driven communications, which will resonate with existing SBS customers, but also crucially drive the acquisition of new customers. This role will also lead the marketing communications for our partnership propositions.

Main Responsibilities

Understanding our target audience is the key to engaging with them. And we have plenty of tools and insight to help you develop effective plans. There’s a lot to do, but you’ll be backed by a talented team that will help you deliver campaigns on time, on budget and on brand.

You’ll need to work collaboratively across the business with colleagues from Financial Advice, Products, Customer Insights, Operations and Skipton Direct. Be prepared to challenge where necessary and act as a champion for the Marketing team to get the best outcomes for customers. You’ll also take an active interest in the development of your team, leading performance reviews and setting the tone with energy, confidence and pace. Effective management of external partners is key too, at times you’ll be working with print providers, media agencies and more.

Ideal Candidate

It goes without saying you’ll be a brilliant communicator who understands the importance of channel, timing, message and audience when it comes to developing a communications plan. You’ll also need a relevant degree and around five of years’ experience of leading a team, end-to-end campaign management and crafting creative briefs.

Financial services is heavily regulated, so a general understanding of how the marketplace works is essential. Experience working with external partners would also be useful, and a CIM or IDM qualification would be the icing on the cake.
