The Institute of Measurement and Control is the UK professional membership organisation for individuals and companies in the measurement, automation and control industries. We are seeking a marketing and communications executive to join our team

Reporting to the Head of Communications and Marketing, you will create online and offline marketing campaigns to promote a range of events, as well as the Institute itself, and be responsible for managing the website. You will have the opportunity to influence communications and marketing strategy and be expected to monitor the effectiveness of marketing activities.

Key Duties

  • Help create and co-ordinate communications and marketing strategy
  • Produce high quality written material to promote events and the Institute
  • Manage and monitor social media accounts
  • Manage design and production of promotional material such as posters and banners.
  • Organise appropriate distribution of promotional material
  • Organise pre-publicity for events, on site event support and delegate attracting activities
  • Act as first contact for Local sections regarding website and promotion Website design and formatting
  • Keep website content and events pages up to date
  • Produce a monthly e-newsletter
  • Organise appropriate distribution of promotional material
  • Organise pre-publicity for events, on site event support and delegate attracting activities
  • Attend events such as conferences, seminars, receptions and exhibitions
  • Ensure campaigns are cost-effective and within budget 
  • Analyse and report on the success of campaigns and marketing activity

Requirements

  • Highly organised
  • Excellent written and verbal skills 
  • Knowledge of using online and social media
  • Ability to manage all projects and campaigns end to end
  • Good understanding of online & social media channels  
  • Marketing qualification or qualified by experience
  • A collaborative and proactive approach 
  • Excellent ICT skills
  • Creative in developing marketing campaigns and activities
  • Excellent copywriting skills and attention to detail
