Specialising in the design, manufacture, supply and on-going support of automatic electrical testing solutions MK Test provide a variety of highly efficient testing applications and high voltage test equipment to a global client base.

Role Definition

Reporting to the Sales Director, the Marketing Manager position would play a key support role in the marketing and business development team.

This is a key role for an individual who currently works in a marketing role (min 5 years), has experience of working in an industrial business, understands B2B marketing in this environment and has good digital marketing skills. They must also have the desire and ambition to continue to further their career in marketing and business development and hold a relevant marketing qualification (i.e. Degree-level marketing and/or Diploma Marketing).

The role requires a high degree of both marketing intelligence and technical ability with a requirement that they understand and have experience of initiating the principles around inbound marketing, an approach that supports a high degree of content and requires an appreciation of digital marketing.

The Marketing Manager role primarily therefore involves supporting and leading a range of marketing and business development projects and activities. In particular, the role would be fully involved with any marketing automation platforms (CRM / CMS) and be responsible for implementation.

The selection of inbound marketing is a core aspect of the role is deliberate. It is an exciting aspect of external communication activity and is an approach that adopts a variety of marketing techniques but is primarily driven by content, blogs, events, SEO, and social media. It is a very modern way of creating brand awareness and of importance to MK Test is a way of attracting and supporting new business from across the globe. A transitional phase is required prior to delivery.

Core Responsibilities

  • ·         Marketing Management – responsibility to manage all aspects of the marketing function that is in place and will be developed over time. This includes (not inclusive): website, social media platforms, advertising options, outbound/direct marketing, event management support and planning, sponsorship options, research/surveys, PR and Media.
  • ·         Marketing Measurement – responsibility for monitoring marketing performance and to provide the MK Test Board with appropriate KPIs.
  • ·         Inbound Marketing – responsibility to support an inbound marketing activity programme pre and post-delivery.
  • ·         Content Marketing – ability to work on the development, production and delivery of content to a selected audience e.g. newsletters, product updates, eMarketing. A high level of editorial ability is a core requirement.
  • ·         Campaign Support – responsibility to assist with the development of MK Test’s business development campaigns; and when necessary to utilise appropriate software support.
  • ·         Website – responsibility to support the maintenance and development of the MK Test website. Experience of website development is essential for this role (i.e. as a manager, project leader).
  • ·         Social Media – responsibility to monitor and support MK Test on several selected social and networking online channels (primarily Twitter and LinkedIn at this time).
  • ·         CRM Data Management – responsibility to support the maintenance and control of MK Test’s customer, prospect and influencer information; and this may also include a level of data analysis.
  • ·         Administration Support – An ability to organise, control and monitor activities; and to develop KPI reports to monitor progress. 
  •   Marketing Agency Interaction – responsibility to identify, negotiate and manage any marketing agency requirement (i.e. Marketing Agency, Design Consultancy, Media Relations)

A deep understanding of marketing (via qualification for instance i.e. Diploma) is a pre-requisite. Equally the selected individual must show a desire to increase their knowledge in order to support this role which could involve additional training, events and out-of-hours study. The candidate must hold both mathematics and English GCSE pass grades along with an appropriate marketing qualification. Additional and supportive qualifications are of course welcomed.

At a personal level and working independently this role will over time become quite demanding, so it is essential that the selected individual has the ability to withstand a degree of personal and professional pressure.
