The Role:

Reporting into the two Co-Founders, this Marketing Manager is the sixth hire in to the business and is the first marketer. The Marketing Manager is being hired to be the expert in all things marketing for the business, so they require someone with expertise across a broad range of marketing - brand building, increasing brand awareness, developing lead generation programmes and supporting with customer acquisition and retention strategies.

The Marketing Manager will be a hands-on strategic marketer and will be passionate about seeing a marketing plan through from conception to execution. This is a blank-slate which will require someone to build the customer proposition, messaging and suite of content, scope and implement marketing technology (email, CRM, web analytics tools), and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns.

If you have experience of working in a B2B start-up as a sole marketer or part of a small team then this is the role for you. You will be passionate, driven and ambitious, and be happy with 'mucking in' when needed to help this start-up succeed.

Responsibilities for the position of Marketing Manager:

  • Leading this start-ups marketing function
  • Working with the co-founders and VC company to understand the business, its goals and the proposition
  • Owning the marketing budget effectively to achieve ROI
  • Developing the go-to-market proposition and messaging
  • Growing awareness of the company
  • Creating and curating a suite of content to be used at each stage of the marketing funnel - awareness, consideration, decision making, customer retention, advocacy
  • Utilising a wide range of marketing channels (email, social media, website, media partners)
  • Generating leads for the sales team (Book Demo or Free Trial)
  • Providing analysis of campaign effectiveness that will support team and business growth

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • Experience in a commercially focused marketing role
  • Worked for a start-up business
  • Great copywriting ability
  • B2B brand awareness and lead generation marketing experience
  • Written successful marketing strategies
  • Tactical execution experience across email, social media, website, digital, offline
  • A passionate, driven and ambitious attitude

The Company:

This start-up technology business is based in Central London and were founded in early 2018. They have recently secured their next round of funding and need an expert in marketing to join the existing team of five people. The organisation has a great product that has found a niche in the market and are now needing to drive sales and revenue to help them achieve their goals for the next three years. They are based in a start-up accelerator office space that offers flexible working and the culture you would expect to come along with that.

The Package for Marketing Manager:

  • Salary: £50,000-60,000 + including great benefits.
