Overall Job Purpose

Sewing Quarter is a successful television channel on Freeview 73, specialising in informative and unique TV content relating to sewing and quilting. Sewing Quarter is a multi-media sewing and quilting commerce, with a shopping channel, an ecommerce website and a strong social media presence including YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. As part of the Immediate Media group, Sewing Quarter works seamlessly with Immediate Media magazines, including Simply Sewing, Love Patchwork and Quilting and Today’s Quilter in order to gain exposure in the key crafting target audience. This role is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with strong digital marketing and acquisition skills to work in a fast-paced TV environment. A new position, you’ll work closely with the Senior Marketing Manager on implementing and delivering a customer acquisition strategy across our online and offline channels, including the website, social media, email and television. You’ll also create content that supports the acquisition strategy. The position is critical in driving long term customer growth.

You will be based in our Birmingham office. However, you will be expected to occasionally work from Redditch, Bristol and/or London and similarly assist at exhibitions if required.


* Create a strategic plan and execution of all digital marketing campaigns across; Email (eg newsletters), Social Media and Paid Advertising
* Drive online traffic and acquire new customers based on data profiling
* Create and monitor Google Analytics dashboards by aggregating data for the marketing department to identify key needs and opportunities and to increase conversions against KPIs
* Assist with search PPC, liaising with agency and understanding top-line reports
* Create and deliver the social media content strategy, distribution and promotion
* Implement new customer acquisition strategies using a mix of digital and traditinal marketing channels
* Manage and implement SEO best practice including monitoring meta data, keywords, referrals and links on the websites monitor and optimise
* Monitor online performance using data from Google Analytics and report by site weekly
* Aim to grow reach, engagement and key conversion metrics across all channels
* Implement any updates that need to be made to website content and ensure that websites are optimised to improve search rankings
* Manage the development and improvements across all websites to create the best user experience
* Work with in-house development team to make back end improvements to website

Knowledge, Experience & Competencies

* Proven experience in Digital Marketing
* Good experience in data analysis and interpretation
* Experienced in agency / supplier management
* Proven acquisition experience
* Good understanding of SEO, PPC, Affiliation, and Social Media
* Able to work on multiple projects concurrently
* Tenacious and determined to find solutions in a fast paced environment
* Able to see a project through from concept to delivery
* Maintains a consistent high level of work and output in a dynamic working environment with challenging deadlines
* A flexible approach to working hours
