Marketing Strategy and Planning Lead

This high profile services business is about to embark on a structural transformation that will land it firmly back on the map. Having already established itself as one of the leading players in its market in the UK, they already have a strong reputation for customer excellence and brand led strategy. This is a high profile and challenging opportunity for a forward thinking and innovative marketing strategy and planning expert.

The Role:

  • Define a clear marketing and customer strategy which is based on a strong and continually relevant customer, market and competitor intelligence
  • Conceptualise and deliver a customer-centric strategy by taking a horizontal, customer view. This will require excellent critical thinking and influencing skills to ensure the board buy into the overall strategy
  • Lead the strategic marketing planning process for Brand & Marketing, including the coordination of key inputs, challenge and enterprise agreement to agree the forward-looking plan over the short, medium and long term
  • Translate the strategic marketing plan into an operational marketing plan and then defining KPIs that are aligned to the objective
  • Ensure consistent customer experience and messages across the business deliver on brand promise and company purpose
  • Command and control cross-campaign planning (marketing, PR, social & brand), co-ordination & prioritisation
  • Defining and refreshing the target operating model for Brand & Marketing to help deliver on the vision of being a leading consumer brand

On behalf of Brand and Marketing you will:

  • Own a £Multi million per year media and digital marketing budget
  • Lead the strategic relationship with media agencies
  • Select media agency partners, identifying best practice in media activity
  • Optimise media effectiveness
  • Ensure accurate cost per acquisition of new customers

Experience:

  • Extensive experience in managing strategic and annual planning cycles
  • Currently employed within an in house strategy function or for a strategy consultancy such as McKinsey.
  • Significant market & competitor knowledge
  • Significant experience of media planning and delivering always on digital marketing activity e.g. aggregators, PPC, paid social, display
  • Significant experience in project management and change management on complex, strategic projects with proven business impact
