The Membership Rewards (MR) programme is a core benefit embedded in many of American Express’s Proprietary Cards. It’s an exciting area of the UK & International Currency Card (ICC) businesses, and plays a key role in driving many of the core business goals supporting acquisition, through to loyalty and organic spend growth.

In the UK & ICC markets, the programme is highly competitive, offering best in class redemption options and experiences for our Cardmembers and is a product which benefits from continued innovation and digitisation.

The Marketing Executive role plays a crucial role on the team, working with the Marketing Manager and alongside two additional Marketing Executives to manage MR expense for UK & ICC. The focus for this individual is to drive effective programme & partner management – including responsibility for managing the UK & ICC Membership Rewards websites and content; leading the effective marketing of core MR redemption options such as Safekey Pay with Points and Use Points towards purchases; and driving our partner relationships to deliver incremental value to Cardmembers.

The role interacts with a broad set of stakeholders across the organisation, both within the UK ICC Team and also at an Enterprise level across the Blue Box.

Key Responsibilities:

*

Act as the MR programme knowledge expert for the E2E CM experience across each of the core MR programme elements – transfer, gift card, safekey PwP, Use points towards purchases and PWP direct integrations (such as Amazon & Ticketmaster)

*

Identify and capitalise on opportunities to drive goals, balancing CM engagement and organic spend growth with overall expense management

*

Develop and deliver new initiatives, and cross-channel marketing plans, with development of detailed business cases and robust measurement plans in place

*

Analyse programme & partner performance and manage monthly dashboard reporting

*

Manage the UK & ICC Membership Rewards websites and content

*

Liaise and negotiate with external programme partners to maintain and add new redemption options to the programme; including contract management

*

Review and provide guidance and approval on all MR product content in Customer communications (online and offline) to ensure the information is correct, aligned to the product positioning and always with the Customer in mind

*

Manage the A&P budget to ensure full utilisation on a timely basis

*

Build successful internal relationships across multiple stakeholder teams such as Central Centre of Excellence team, digital channel and product teams, local product teams, servicing and finance teams

Qualifications

Required skills:

*

University Degree or equivalent experience in marketing or business related studies preferred

*

Previous consumer product management experience preferred, and experience with loyalty programmes and CRM would be a plus

*

Proven track record of driving and delivering results

*

Strong ability to multi-task and manage priorities in a fast-paced work environment

*

Strong interpersonal and communication skills – proven ability to develop and influence relationships across the matrix

*

Strong partner management skill – ability to build and manage external relationships, and experience managing contracts

*

Must be comfortable with data and be able to demonstrate analytical and critical thinking skills

*

Good understanding of the P&L, and understanding of expense drivers

*

High level of attention to detail

*

Independent self-starter, willing to learn and ask questions, while having fun

*

Positive, collaborative attitude and a team player
