Our client is a specialist land-based college based across the North of England with centres in Newcastle, Middlesbrough, Saltaire, Wakefield, Scarborough and Penrith.
It is a vibrant and dynamic environment where no two days are the same working with stories that see their uniformed cadet core receive the salute on armistice day to their ‘strictly come dancing’ agricultural lecturers dancing the tango for the RABI charity. The marketing and communications team are focused on ensuring that the College is the College of choice for land related learning.
They are looking for an exceptional individual who will strive to build on the strong foundations of this established brand. You'll use all forms of media, communication and events to build, maintain, manage and promote and protect the reputation of our College, students and staff. You'll communicate key messages to all stakeholders to develop, establish and maintain goodwill and understanding of the College and its ethos.
You'll monitor publicity and conduct research to find out the concerns and expectations of staff, students, governors and stakeholders. You'll use this to report and explain the findings and develop communication plans and event strategies to address concerns, issues and create positive stories.
You will be managing, co-ordinating and delivering a programme of events, to develop and maintain the awareness of the College in the local community and at a national level. You will use your experience to create and lead on the development of a wider programme of events and cultural campaigns for the College including the end of year Award Ceremony, Great Yorkshire Show and the Driffield Agricultural Show.
Educated to Degree (or equivalent), and with significant knowledge and understanding of PR at a strategic level, you will have a proven track record of delivery across a multi-site organisation. This is a challenging role which will require you to be creative, flexible and calm in a crisis.
