Do you have a love of PR and are looking for a role aligned to the story telling side of things?

Putting to good use core skills in writing with an almost journalistic mentality?

Connecting the dots between what's happening in a business, the products they provide, developments in the industry or even the geo-political, social and economic environment - seeing the public interest angle and how to tell that story.

THE ROLE

Now imagine doing just this, working for a firm which is meeting a growing challenge in today's society - driven by the disparity between growth in salaries vs house prices. Supporting those who may be perceived as vulnerable and also those struggling to get a foothold in today's housing market. Telling the stories which demonstrate the good this firm is doing in communities, as well as politically.

A lot of this begins by looking internally - it's a big firm with lots going on, so there's lots of different angles you could take. Including a wealth of data and resource information you could draw from when considering which topic you'd like to take. Spotting the angle will be important, so having a nose for a story and one which will capture the public's imagination is going to be critically important.

THE TEAM

The PR and Press team will be 5 people strong - a team lead and press officers, each with a different focus and lens to their role.

There's a well established business partnering approach in place already, working with key stakeholders to keep abreast of developments both internally and externally of the firm.

EXTERNAL PARTNERSHIPS

Something you will be able to help develop will be their external partnership approach. There will also be a budget in place to support this. So you will have the opportunity to be creative with ideas for this - establishing the business case for who a good partner will be, what the angle is (how you will spin the story connected to it) and how to get the right kind of results from it - be it brand exposure and profile raising, helping to shift perception around specific brand index scores, or more tangible business benefits and results.

So as you can see there's lots of scope in this role for both creative thinking, and having an impact. Also working for a firm, despite being commercial in nature, is looking to improve people's lives through the services they provide.

Role title: PR Executive

Location: East London

Salary: £30,000 - £36,000

Benefits: Pension, healthcare, life assurance and lots more.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • A solid background in the pro-active story telling side of PR - perhaps you even have a background in journalism
  • Really interested in writing, and can see the public interest angle when considering topics to take on, how to properly investigate them, analysing data and crafting the narrative
  • Great people skills - partnering with business stakeholders when developing press stories and public interest pieces
  • An interest in things like housing, social housing, commercial housing, etc. will be beneficial
  • Able to evidence where you've managed to turn your ideas into press coverage
  • Experience can be established in either agency or client side
  • Team fit - someone who's social, doesn't take themselves too seriously, likely an interest in the political landscape
  • Must have the ability to live and work in the UK unrestricted. Unfortunately sponsorship cannot be provided
