PR Manager

My client are a Top Regional Legal 500 Firm with offices dotted across the North West, Due to expansion and a high work flow they are now keen to appoint an experienced and motivated PR Manager to sit within the Bolton office but travel to each helping deliver a comprehensive PR programme to highlight the firm's practice areas and key strengths to the public and other key stakeholders.

This is an amazing opportunity for those Public Relations and Marketing professionals to come in and really add value and put your stamp onto this aspiring and ambitious firm, whose presence in the market is only growing! You'll report into the Marketing Manager who is also a Partner of the firm.

Main Responsibilities:
Ensure the organisations goals are met by implementing PR strategies which complement the business plans
Responsible for the day to day management of the press office
Act as the key point of contact when responding to enquiries from media, individuals and other organisations
Manage the work of our outsourced agency who are responsible for sector title coverage
Researches, writes and distributes press releases to targeted media including having a strong track record with national publications and broadcast media
Generate and manage the flow of content for online sources and social media, and actively utilise social media to generate work
Be responsible for writing and editing in-house e-marketing newsletters, blogs, speeches, articles for the firm's websites and printed media
Source and produce customer cases studies, testimonials and interview clients who agree to publicity about their case
Manage the annual awards submissions calendar including advising on entries and preparing submissions
Compile the annual legal directory submissions for Legal 500
Monitor and analyse the firm's media coverage and report monthly using media tracking software
Ensure all relevant content is posted to the firm's websites
Commission market research and use the findings to assist with PR campaigns
Assist with publicising CSR initiatives to foster community relations
Have involvement in events, including seminars, exhibitions, open days and press tours. Including devising and coordinating photo opportunities and maximising press involvement
Assists with any other PR related duties as and when required
Direct reports:

My client are not precious on candidates having a Legal background although it is a bonus if you do, they're really needing someone who has 5 years + experience within PR and are able to withold and sustain good relationships with the press, you must also have good knowledge of Social Media, reports on media tracking and are able to help and advise solicitors when intevriewing with the press.

Other requirements:
Educated to degree level in English, Journalism or PR- Desirable
Working towards a CIPR recognised qualification- Desirable
Driving licence and own car as there will be some travel- Desirable

5 years experience in a PR position in professional services sector or PR agency -Essential
Experience in a strategic PR position- Essential
Proven media exposure and ability to build relationships with media, colleagues and clients- Essential
Proven people management - Essential
Experience in all forms of social media to communicate with key stakeholders- Essential
Experience of carrying out independent research- Desirable

To be succesful for this role it is important that you have good interpersonal skills to gain credibility and maintain positive relationships with partners, employees, managers and external parties, you must also be able to take a strategic yet hands on approach with all aspects of your role.
