Become a Product Development Manager with Capita DCC

Location – North West

Reporting into the Head of Product Management, as the Product Development Manager, you will be part of this ground-breaking work which is led by the Strategy and Product Management Team in DCC. You will work in collaboration with the existing Innovation and Business Development Manager – responsible for early stage identification of new business opportunities. Beyond innovation and development, other responsibilities of this team include business strategy and business planning.

Role:

As part of the Strategy and Product Management team, the Product Development Manager will:

*

Qualify, manage and progress effectively and efficiently new product development initiatives through the initial phases, from established concept to proposal to specification and planning; champion the initiative throughout the development and delivery phase; and ‘product manage’ the initiative once in life – taking the initiatives through DCC’s governance process.

the role will also involve:

*

Helping to define and operate DCC’s innovation and development framework

*

Working with the in-life product management team to promote DCC’s outward facing capabilities and assets to ensure they are exploited for innovation and growth, to benefit the energy industry and ultimately the energy consumer.

*

Support business development activities including active promotion of DCC’s position in the market place, to ensure effective support from external stakeholders including the energy industry, Government, regulatory parties and other industries of interest.

Your experience will include:

*

A hands-on product development experience with evidence of initiatives delivered from industry concept to product specification and delivery planning, ideally in a regulated environment.

*

Extensive experience of developing and managing products or propositions through early-life and strong virtual team leadership of cross functional virtual teams.

*

Excellent communications skills and stakeholder management including entrepreneurs, large corporations, Government and regulators.

*

Understanding of technology futures: i.e M2M, IoT, Connected Home

Skills and Experiences - Desirable

*

Understanding of the “Smart Energy” context and knowledge of DCC working environment

*

Experience in corporate strategy

*

Experience of working in management consultancy / strategy / policy environments

*

Experience with Board level interaction
