Hemel Hempstead

Our Research & Development function is dramatically growing here at Britvic. Following a £240 million investment in new, state of the art production facilities we are looking for a Product Development Technologist to lead the technical product development workstream to develop new soft drinks products from concept to commercialisaiton, with support of the product development managers.

Britvic is aiming to push the boundaries with what we can do with our products using cutting edge technology to influence and inspire our well loved brands to become even better. This role gets to work really closely with all Technical departments, particularly with our ingredients team to create new processes to enable the launch of new to market drinks. We have great opportunities to influence marketing, supply chain and external suppliers to be truly innovative and guide our brands successes.

Our R&D team consists of a group of highly trained scientists and professionals who are focused on supporting all Britvic business units by adding value through the “Make, Market, Sell, Enable” mindset and excellent partnership collaboration.

As a Liquid Process Development Technologist you will be responsible for flawless delivery of the annual operating plan (AOP), through project leadership of the product development work streams within the technical research and development team, and for ownership of a specific technical pillar. You will also be responsible for working collaboratively with the technical project team, using technical knowledge and project leadership skills to provide options, solutions and time plans which support the delivery of new products, savings and product optimisation.

What we’re looking for in a Product Development Technologist:

* Honours or Degree equivalent in relevant science discipline (e.g. Chemistry, Food science)

* Experience working within FMCG technical departments leading delivery of technical projects as part of a cross functional team is essential.

* Skills in product formulation and process scale up from laboratory to factory are essential.

* Skills in factory commissioning and validation with a focus on quality are desired.

* Specific knowledge of beverage formulation, ingredients, and processing is desired.

If this sounds like you, then we’d love to hear from you. This exciting role could give you the opportunity to play an integral part in the future growth of one of the biggest soft drink suppliers in the UK.

Britvic is a very exciting and supportive place to be, with award winning brands, a clear vision for growth, a focus on personal development and an open and honest culture. We offer a comprehensive package for this position with excellent benefits and you’d be working with talented individuals in a vibrant workplace.

We’re committed to providing equal opportunities to all applicants and employees – in fact this is at the heart of our company culture and values, and we welcome applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds.
