Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to work as part of the Strategy and Product Management Team in the DCC (Data Communications Company). You will work with the newly formed Product Management team to manage the current in-life products.

This role is more upstream on identifying product enhancements, investigating the opportunity and shaping the change required, it is about positioning a product, defining a roadmap and leading the virtual team to productise existing offerings in the market, the full 360-degree product cycle (such as product features, advantages, benefits, pricing, communication plans, channels etc). We are looking for candidates with experience in mobile/ data communications technologies

The rest of the Product Management team covers product development.

Stakeholders:

You will work closely with the Regulatory, Technology, Operations and Security teams.

The Product Manager will engage with customers, the energy industry, the DCC supply chain, Government, regulatory parties and other industries of interest to understand their needs, define the priority of developments and report back on our products.

Key Accountabilities

As Product Manager you will perform its product management role within the framework of the DCC licence and Smart Meter regulation. This will include:

Manage our existing products and services, product/service taxonomy, and reference collaterals, libraries and product specifications.

Define and orchestrate roles and responsibilities of DCC functions in the delivery and management of our product and services.

*

Segment our customer base to inform and develop customer focused product roadmaps and inform customer experience strategy.

*

Build a roadmap for our products including prioritisation decisions, driving product operational and financial performance, managing product life cycles and end of life product retirement strategy.

*

Define a reporting framework for product performance, including Cost to serve/ margin contribution / Total Cost of Ownership, CSAT/Customer Effort per product. Track business case benefits of deliverables and lead remedial actions.

Feed-back market insights to the S&PM team to build industry trends and driver that underpin identification of new initiatives

Skills and Experiences - Essential

*

Hands on product management experience in a heavily regulated environment with industry and regulatory stakeholders.

*

Extensive experience of managing products or propositions through early-life to end of life, and strong virtual team leadership of cross functional virtual teams.

*

Excellent communications and stakeholder management skills and structured thinking skills

*

Understanding of data communications technologies including mobile.

*

Desirable – an understanding of the “Smart Energy” context, the energy industry
