We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Business Partner to join the projects FBP team.

The team provides finance business partnering service to the project managers, holding regular cost reviews with the PM teams, reviewing actual performance and out-turn. Co-ordinating planning, budgeting and forecasting returns to Cost Planning and Reporting teams.

This role is also responsible for acting as the link between projects, the project sponsor and procurement function, including budgetary approval of FTE and third-party costs.

As a Projects Finance Business Partner your main responsibilities will be

* Understand drivers of project cost performance and provide insight to senior cost management and relevant stakeholders on project cost performance, including any variance to approved budgets and any potential risks or opportunities against them.

* Responsible for the accounting of project costs ensuring cost accruals accurately reflect the work completed and correctly accounting for project capitalisation and impairment.

* Collation and input of forecasting and budget information into required cost models for financial planning teams.

* Manage monthly cost reviews with PMO and PM teams, with the ability to explain variances and proactively identifying areas to challenge cost.

* Approving spend requests and contractors in line with project cost approvals, highlighting any concerns around project adherence to procurement policies and acting as link between project management and sourcing teams where appropriate.

Minimum skills and experience required

* Qualified ACA/CIMA/ACCA.

* Solid experience in Finance cost related roles.

* Proven experience of line management and understanding cost accounting and control requirements.

* Able to work under pressure and to achieve tight deadlines, individually and as part of a team.

* Passionate about delivering excellent customer service all of the time and having strong communication skills.
