An exciting opportunity has arisen for a research professional to join a highly successful law firm in a newly created role offering additional support to Business Development colleagues as the firm implements new business plans focussing on five strategic areas of growth.
The Research Executive will report to the Research & Information Services Manager and will join a team which manages, maintains and develops the firm's external information resources, and provides a responsive legal and business research service, including current awareness and training sessions, for all practices in the firm including regional and international offices. The role holder will work collaboratively with the wider Business Development & Marketing team, as well as with the Knowledge Development Lawyers to ensure the firm understands and fully supports the information needs of both lawyers and clients. As well as providing general legal research support, this role will have specific responsibility for supporting business development activities by researching and creating analysis in relation to the firm's clients, key industry and business areas, target and competitors, in line with the firmwide business development strategy. The successful candidate will provide a proactive legal and business enquiry service to lawyers and staff, delivering fast and high quality information to all enquirers, using a variety of electronic and print resources. You will be expected to produce commercially focussed client and industry insight and reports, to support pitches, client relationship programmes, and business development activities, and to develop and deliver engaging presentations and training sessions.
The ideal candidate will be a well-educated team player, with significant experience using commercial legal databases and business information resources in a professional services environment, ideally within a partnership. This role would suit an existing Research Executive with a strong ability to locate, capture, summarise and synthesise information and data from multiple sources to create meaningful insights and decision-ready reports. Proactive, with a 'can-do' attitude and a strong customer service ethic you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a commercial and professional approach.
