Retail Marketing & E-Commerce Manager – 6 mth FTC
£250 Day Rate (Paid PAYE)

Immediate starter with both retail marketing and e-commerce experience, gained client-side or agency, needed ASAP for this exciting role in one of London's most popular museums. Working in a central London based team, you'll take immediate responsibility for developing an integrated marketing strategy to promote and build the on-line and shop merchandise, raising awareness of the retail offer in conjunction with the heads of digital marketing and trading. In particular, you will focus on attracting more traffic to the museum website, broadening the customer base and creating greater brand loyalty.  Initial contract is for 6 months with the possible permanent contract following this.

Our client is a leading example within the museum and cultural sector with a retail offer built on a strong and internationally recognised brand. The product range available includes gifts, accessories, souvenirs, books, models, furniture and posters with much appeal to UK visitors, tourists, design and transport enthusiasts of all ages. 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the development of an integrated marketing plan to drive on-line and retail sales, scoping and co-ordinating print and on-line advertising campaigns, and developing effective email, direct mail, loyalty schemes, discounts and value added promotions.
  • Managing and campaign planners, keeping information accurate and up-to-date, monitoring spend and establishing clear targets and KPIs.
  • Proactively targeting customers likely to purchase products with a higher margin such as made to order posters, prints and furniture. 
  • Using social media, PPC and retargeting activity to build relationships with consumers and supporting the retail PR agency on seasonal activity.
  • Supporting the commercial team on seasonal marketing activity, through digital advertising campaigns, newsletter activity and reactive opportunities. 

Skills & Experience required

To meet the challenge of this role, you’ll need proven experience of managing retail and on-line campaigns to drive footfall and website traffic, ideally with a strong grasp of social media too.  You will have strong communication skills, building productive relationships with internal colleagues, agencies and other stakeholders in commercial and non-profit organisations.

A good grasp of print and other advertising media is important, with at least some experience working with an e-commerce business or retail proposition. This should include content management systems, email marketing, Search Engine Optimisation, Google Adwords and use of Google Analytics.

We are looking for someone who can bring energy, enthusiasm and drive to this role which may well become a permanent appointment after the initial 6 month contract.
