We have an exciting opportunity to join our team based in a heart of our business as a Risk Analyst - Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book.

This Risk Analyst role sits within the Market & Structural Risk team, with responsibility for measuring and controlling the structural market risk within the bank. The team develops internal risk models in order to monitor, report and control the structural interest rate risk exposure of the bank through a range of risk metrics and scenarios. The team also has the responsibility to provide support, challenge and oversight of the Asset & Liability Management function of the bank.

As a Risk Analyst you will be a key member of the team that develops and maintains the interest rate risk balance sheet models for Santander UK supporting the management and oversight of Structural Market Risk.

As a Risk Analyst your main responsibilities will be to:

* Develop, maintain, run, the balance sheet models and processes, implemented in QRM and Excel, in order to measure the interest rate risk profile of the bank through a range of metrics.

* Develop, monitor, and document the behavioural assumptions that are used in balance sheet models; this will require the ability to perform robust statistical analysis, and also to collaborate closely with stakeholders.

* Become a subject matter expert, with the ability to explain in simple and intuitive terms, the complex dynamics of the balance sheet models and related risk metrics to senior management and stakeholders.

* Prepare documents and PowerPoint presentations to a high standard, to support senior committees and management.

* Work with other business areas across Risk, Retail & Corporate Divisions, Financial Markets, and IT; to provide support and constructively challenge to a wide range of projects, risk management strategies and business initiatives from a structural market risk perspective.

Minimum skills and experience required:

* Experience of QRM or similar balance sheet modelling tool is desirable.

* Degree in a mathematical or financial related subject.

* Experience in Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book, ALM or similar role.

* Experience of analysing large datasets using SAS, SQL or similar programming language is desirable including advanced Excel skills.

* Strong communication skills.
