Job Purpose
Santander Consumer (UK) plc (SCUK) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Santander UK, one of the UK’s primary banks and part of Grupo Santander, one of the largest financial groups in the world. As a company in its own right SCUK was founded in 2005. It operates within the market under the SCUK brand as well as through a number of white-label and joint venture companies, providing funding solutions for both Motor Retailers and Consumers.

Reporting into the Head of Insight and Intelligence and based at SCUK head office in Redhill, Surrey, the key purpose of the role is to assist the organisation’s commercial sales team through the delivery and analysis of management information.

Summary of Key Responsibilities
General :

Under the guidance of the Head of Insight and Intelligence assist in supporting the SCUK commercial sales team with a specific focus on:

• Acting as the central monitoring point ensuring that all management information, including ad hoc reporting, is produced in line with agreed timelines and process.
• Provide analysis on business performance and key market trends with a view to increasing sales performance and profitability
• Continuously review, challenge, and data cleanse within the reporting framework, and recommend more effective ways to improve processes, efficiency and data presentation
• Take an active involvement in the development and testing of new management information systems including any transitions from current systems

Operational planning:

In line with the marketing report library, develop an activity plan outlining agreed production timings and high-level deliverables

Technical development:

Working in close conjunction with the organisations Business Intelligence function, ensuring that all management information development is delivered in a manner that will maximise coverage and usage

Management Information support:

Lead the delivery of agreed reporting and management information reporting to be utilised across the Commercial Division

Development of sales reporting:

Ensure that sales reporting is well constructed, meets the needs of our sales teams, dealers, and OEM’s and delivered through the appropriate channels

Stakeholder engagement:

Establish a collaborative working relationship with SCUK sales teams, and all other business functions at SCUK

Insight and Analysis:

Utilise appropriate insight and analysis (e.g. industry, business, customer and digital) to develop ways in which to SCUK can differentiate our business proposition and increase added value to the organisations customers, dealers and OEM partners


Ensure that any activities carried out are in line with regulatory principles of business to help enhance good customer outcomes including the GDPR


Carry out any other tasks from time to time as may reasonably be requested

Summary of Key Competencies

Must be capable of developing coherent project, programme and activity level action plans.


Must be able to take a careful systematic study of key business areas to identify trends and opportunities.


Must possess good written and verbal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with and present to internal and external stakeholders.

Commercial awareness:

Must be aware of the motor finance market including dealership sales processes in order to be able to add value to the SCUK business proposition.


Must be an excellent team player, able to establish strong working relationships with stakeholders, colleagues and business partners.

Time Management:

Must display sound time management skills by delivering activity within prescribed timeframes through the effective prioritisation of actions across multiple tasks.

Other Requirements of the Role
Given the scope of this position it is preferred that the job holder has the following experience:

• Ideally has a minimum of 12 months motor finance experience.
• Previous management information experience is essential given the specialised nature of this role and the company reliance on the accuracy of the data produced.
• Requires SQL, Advanced Microsoft Access, and Excel competence
• Has proven capability of automating manual processes
• Has worked in a flexible environment which may require some work out of hours.
• Has an appreciation of legal, regulatory and compliance issues relating to the use of customer data and is familiar with the principles encapsulated within ‘treating customer fairly’ code of conduct.

In addition to the above it is expected that any candidate is able to display excellent interpersonal skills, is comfortable and confident when dealing with senior management, and is able to work effectively in pressurised situations when they arise.


• Basic salary of £30,000-£34,000 plus the ability to earn a bonus of up to 20%.
