A highly impressive global law firm are looking for an outstanding Senior Business Development Manager, to work with the firm's Corporate Department on a 9 month fixed term contract basis. The firm are looking for someone who can combine a strategic perspective with a hands-on approach to delivery. You will be able to identify the firm's competitive advantages and bring these to life in marketing materials, presentations and pitches. You will be good at spotting opportunities and mobilising to pursue them, bringing in support from the wider marketing and business development community as appropriate. The successful candidate will be working with partners and leadership to develop the growth plan for the Practice Group, ensuring that the firm's marketing captures their unique value proposition, and prioritising the key client opportunities, marketing initiatives and service lines of the group. Leading and developing the members of the Corporate Business Development team, you will ensure they have clear objectives and are delivering at the expected standard. On the BD side you will ensure the delivery of a high-quality end-to-end service on corporate proposals, identify, prioritise and develop opportunities, reviewing the pipeline of targets to ensure that opportunities are prioritised and targeting efforts are focused on the greatest opportunities for developing business, and support the Client Review Programme and ensure systematic client feedback is obtained to enable a client focused approach to decision making and service, new product development and ongoing service excellence. From a marketing perspective, you will be responsible for developing a marketing plan for the group and producing content as required for web, PR, training and client facing events and liaising with the central PR Team around profile raising. The Senior Business Development Manager will also need to finalise work on Corporate value proposition ensuring marketing collateral is refreshed and draft credible submissions for directories such as Legal 500, Chambers and other marketing materials.
This role would suit a very bright graduate or equivalent, with sound proven BD Manager experience gained ideally in another large law or professional services firm to include previous experience of working in a client-facing, fast paced role. The firm is seeking someone who will thrive on working in a fast paced, commercially-focussed, environment and who understands the need to provide a quick and efficient service. It is essential that the Senior BD Manager can demonstrate a highly flexible and adaptable approach as the role will require the individual to multitask and employ strong analytical, numerical and writing skills. The ideal candidate will be a highly credible individual with gravitas and a high level of intellectual ability combined with a strategic awareness of business and commercial issues.
