A highly impressive global law firm are looking for an outstanding Senior Business Development Manager to manage the strategic focus of the In-Market operations of the Corporate Practice Group in the London office. The Senior Business Development Manager will co-ordinate office resources and develop a strategic focused, market-leading BD, marketing and communications business-partnering capability which enables the Group in the London office to win, retain and grow business through consistently high standards, engaging thought leadership and strong relationship and account management. Acting as the first point of contact for all business development needs, you will manage and prioritise BD and marketing activities. You will manage a small team locally and liaise with multiple stakeholders across the firm to identify the firm's competitive advantages and bring these to life in marketing materials, presentations and pitches. You will be tasked with developing the growth plan for the Practice Group, including key client opportunities, marketing and communications campaigns, priority revenue generating service lines and initiatives and key events. The role holder will be expected to build and maintain close working relationships with colleagues in expert functions and end-to end services to ensure the practice groups are benefitting from best practice and latest thinking elsewhere in the firm and must ensure the firm captures feedback, matter experience, client contacts and business development leads to enable the practice to promote itself effectively and to grow its business. The successful applicant will also be responsible for leading and developing the junior members of the team.
This role would suit a very bright graduate or equivalent, with significant proven marketing and business development experience gained ideally in another large law or professional services firm to include previous experience of working and developing relationships with senior stakeholders. The firm is seeking someone who will thrive on working in a fast paced, commercially-focused and who can demonstrate a highly flexible and adaptable approach as the role will require the individual to multitask and employ strong judgment, the ability to make well-reasoned, independent decisions and outstanding communication skills. The Senior Business Development Manager will also be a highly credible individual with gravitas and a high level of strategic awareness of business and commercial issues. Previous relevant Big 4 experience is highly desirable.
