This is a very exciting senior level opportunity based within one of the biggest names in the legal world. You will be tasked with strategically sustaining and growing profitability for the firm's London corporate practice.
The successful candidate will lead a team of BD professionals and drive BD initiatives designed to deliver profitable revenue from existing and target clients. It will be your responsibility to drive forward initiatives that will directly impact on the success of the business. This will involve liaising at the most senior levels of the partnership, influencing internal stakeholders, and will require a very strategic handle allied to strong organisational and operational skills. The role holder will need to establish themselves as a trusted advisor in the delivery of the London Corporate BD Strategy, providing strategic advice and support to the leaders of the London Corporate practice on generating growth through BD initiatives and working with the Corporate Partners individually and in practice sub-groups to ensure their BD activities are focused and deliver results. The Senior BD Manager will work closely with the Head of BD and Client Experience, Corporate to deliver the strategy and vision for the global BD function and collaborate with leaders of other business services functions to ensure the effective delivery of support to the London Corporate practice. You will also take direct client relationship management responsibility for at least one core client of the firm and working with the client partner and client team, manage all elements the client relationship to identify opportunities and enhance the performance of the relationship. Developing the capabilities of your team based on the needs of the practice and the team member's career aspirations will represent an important element of this challenging role.
Pre-requisites for this role include a strong academic background, allied to proven strategic business development experience gained in another large law or professional services firm. Diversity of experience across sectors and industries is preferred. It is essential that the Senior BD Manager possesses both strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated expertise in influencing, and building trusted adviser relationships with a diverse range of senior stakeholders and a proven track record of team management.
