A major international law firm is looking to appoint a Senior Business Development Manager, Financial Institutions. The focus of this senior role is to work within the Marketing and BD team to provide high-quality, proactive business development advice to the lawyers in this sector, helping them to develop and grow their client relationships. The Senior Business Development Manager will work very closely with the firm's Financial Institutions Group sector leaders, who are senior partners of the firm based in London, Frankfurt and New York and will work in an advisory capacity to help them manage one of the largest sector groups in the firm. The successful candidate will implement and evolve the marketing and BD strategy for the most important Financial Institutions clients and for the sector as a whole, optimising the management of the financial and procurement relationships with key clients whilst managing a team of one Business Development Manager and one Commercial Manager who report directly into this role. Your key responsibilities will be sector and team management, market intelligence, client relationship management, management of finance and procurement relationships, pitching, delivering business plan initiatives and driving profitable revenue growth.
You will be degree educated, ideally with post-graduate legal or marketing qualifications and have substantial marketing and business development experience or experience of financial management of client relationships gained whilst working in the professional services sector in an international business environment that requires buy-in and engagement of senior management or partners and working across cultures successfully. Previous experience working in or in relation to global Financial Institutions is essential and you must also have experience of working with multi-locational teams and leveraging centralised resources. The Senior Business Development Manager will have the ability to build strong working relationships and to be able to persuade and influence a range of people, including partners, and be able to lead a team in a high pressure environment with a focus on results.
