An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Business Development Manager to join the Practice Stream Business Development team of a friendly and supportive international law firm.
The firm's technology practice is wide ranging and dynamic. At its core is the IP/IT practice stream comprising five partners dealing with all aspects of contentious and non-contentious IP, commercial contracts, outsourcing and associated agreements. Your role will be to proactively engage with all relevant partners in the firm to provide strategic high quality business development advice and ensure that the practice develops across all fronts. The role holder will enjoy a broad role. You will be expected to develop a strong understanding of the business strategy and objectives of the practice and will work directly with the relevant Partners to ensure that business plans are focused and considered and subsequently execute the agreed plans. You will be tasked with promoting cross-stream working throughout the firm, working with partners to co-ordinate the technology practice, and ensuring a holistic client experience and delivering high quality BD initiatives. The successful applicant will be expected to take a thoughtful and dynamic approach to attracting new clients and work with fee earners to identify, shape and deliver engaging, insightful, targeted and thought-provoking content and initiatives. You will also support the preparation of pitches, working closely with BD members in the practice groups and pitch team, and play an active role in the firm's Client Relationship Management Programme ensuring that potential opportunities for developing the technology offering to the firm's most significant clients are identified and progressed. In addition, the Senior Business Development Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all digital platforms are fully utilised to communicate with clients and other external stakeholders and will support the IP/IT practice in ensuring that submissions for awards and directories represent the very best of the firm.
With extensive business to business or professional services marketing and business development experience, preferably gained in a law firm, the ideal candidate will be a pro-active, analytical and numerate team players, with a high attention to detail and strong communication, influencing and people skills. It is essential that you thrive working under pressure and are able to demonstrate a previous track record of prioritising and delivering complex and multiple projects to tight deadlines and possess a strong ability to analyse and interpret data.
