As a Senior Bid Manager within this leading global professional services firm, you will support the Head of the Audit and Assurance Bid Team in developing the group's firm wide strategy for bids.
You will provide strategic support and guidance to partners on proposal strategy and tactics and work with partners and Business Development Managers to discuss bid pipelines, potential bid strategy and approach. The Senior Bid Manager will support partners and teams in opportunity and relationship development leading up to potential tender opportunities, working with and challenging them to develop compelling propositions and providing the challenge and objectivity that ensures teams' approaches and messages are tailored to the prospective client. You will offer advice and coach partners throughout the bid process from development of the initial bid strategy to maintaining relationships during the negotiation period. The role holder will also supervise and co-ordinating other bid team members involved in project management, document production and other support functions and undertake debriefs and participate in meetings with clients. The delivery of training to the team and selected areas of the practice on bid best practice and methodology will represent an important facet of the role and the successful candidate will also be expected to support and initiate projects to raise the overall standard of bidding across the firm, including material to facilitate high quality self-service solutions for smaller bids, and must work with the central knowledge management teams to share key wins information, and highlights from successful bids.
Degree educated or equivalent, the successful candidate will have previous professional services experience of winning competitive tenders for non-commoditised services and sound knowledge of the audit services market, its drivers and attributes. It is essential that candidates possess a strong ability to establish credibility and provide robust challenge within their peer group and also the highly effective communication and networking skills necessary to gain credibility with a demanding audience. Professional, impactful, disciplined, persistent and proactive, the Senior Bid Manager must also have an ability to offer appropriate creative input and bring new innovative ideas to the team.
