Smart, commercially savvy, brand passionate consumer marketer needed NOW for this fab role with a global player in the pet care market.  In this challenging and busy role, supported by a Brand Manager, you’ll be driving growth for a premium brand loved by people across the world who truly love their cats and dogs!  Working in conjunction with regional and global teams, you’ll lead the brand vision and strategy – developing an ambitious marketing and promotional plan, and activating the brand with a significant digital, social media, PR, retail, events and some ATL activity.  This is a role that needs someone with strong strategic, analytical and creative thinking skills; someone who knows how to work with cross-functional teams and agency partners to deliver real commercial results in a highly competitive and innovative category.

Specific responsibilities in this role include:

  • Developing the annual brand plan, including promotions, new product launches and media investment
  • Managing the launch of new products across retail and e-commerce
  • Identifying business growth drivers and developing strategies to drive engagement, loyalty and brand recommendation 
  • Building and implementing a compelling on-line content strategy for the brand across all company, retailer and e-commerce sites
  • Leading cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on all key brand activities
  • Owning the brand P&L and A&P spend and supporting the commercial team in planning customer marketing activity
  • Managing an annual calendar of consumer events to drive brand awareness, engagement and purchase
  • Providing marketing support for customer trade events
  • Motivating, mentoring and empowering your direct report to deliver against key business and personal development objectives

Hands on brand management skills and a track record of success building consumer brand(s) are key for this exciting and highly visible role in what is a dynamic and close-kinit team.  Working in the premium segment of a large and highly-competitive FMCG category, you will enjoy day-to-day responsibility for building a growth strategy and making your mark on the business.

  • Robust academic background with a minimum of 5 years in a leading consumer goods business
  • Strong strategic, creative and analytical thinking skills and experience including brand & equity management, integrated marketing & digital communications and new brand launches
  • Real commercial acumen and financial savvy, able to make recommendations from market, consumer and internal sales data
  • Proven ability to work independently in a task-oriented environment as well as effectively within a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Self-awareness and personal Impact, able to thrive in a large, global structure where gaining the support of people around you is key
  • Extensive experience working with external creative, digital, media and promotional agencies
  • A willingness to travel in the UK and Europe for c.15-20% of time
